A local man was found guilty of lewd or lascivious molestation on a 9-year-old this week, a press release from the state attorney’s office said.
Lucas W. Eckert, 35, was arrested in August 2014 after the young girl’s mother alerted the authorities to abuse. Eckert, a family friend, molested the girl when they were left alone.
The mother discovered the abuse after learning the origin of a small cut on the girl’s finger.

She told her mother that she was forced to shave Eckert’s stomach, resulting in the injury. He then inappropriately touched her, the investigation found.
Eckert now faces 25 years to life in prison and will be sentenced March 5.
