Private Detective: Electronic Vapor Store Burglarized

The electronic vapor store off Alexandria Drive has only been opened for 6 months, and Saturday night it was the target of a burglary.

When police arrived at Major Vapor around 2 a.m., they didn’t find much. It wasn’t until the owner showed up later that he discovered his business had been burglarized and it was all caught on camera.

“They basically got everything in this case here; all of our different batteries, tanks, chargers all that kind of stuff,” said owner Kevin Burke.

But the burglars didn’t realize they were being watched. After going over the surveillance video, store owner Kevin Burke says he recognizes the two young men who had been in the store earlier.

“They had seen some of the hardware we had here before. They just wanted an e-cigarette, we can’t sell it to them if they’re underage so I guess they decided to steal it instead,” said Burke.

Video surveillance shows the two using a brick to shatter the front door. Then, the two men come back to the store a second time to get more items. By the time police got there, it was too late.

Burke says the burglars got away with about $500 worth of merchandise, but the damage they left behind was much more.

“With the way the weather has been lately, and business has been slow. And people who do this kind of stuff don’t really realize who they’re hurting when they do stuff like this,” he said.

Police have not identified the men in the video, but if you know anything about the case give them a call.
