Lexington police arrested a woman accused of forcing her way into another woman’s home and attacking her early Monday morning.
Officers responded to the home on Harrogate Road just after midnight. Police say the victim told them Ashley R. Sies, 31, rang her doorbell repeatedly and banged on the door.

The victim said she thought it was her granddaughter, so she opened the door. Police say Sies immediately began hitting the victim and forced her way into the home. Officers say Sies hit the victim in the head, pulled out a handful of the victim’s hair and tried to strangle the victim with a bra.
The victim told LEX 18 she managed to escape because she hit the victim in the head with a ceramic chicken statue.
Police arrested Sies and charged her with burglary.
