A 3-car crash in Shelby County left one person dead Saturday morning. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says it happened on I-64 between Simpsonville and Shelbyville.
Deputies say a driver crashed into an abandoned car then spun into the middle of the road, hitting other cars.

The victim who died was in the vehicle that hit the abandoned car. Police say he was in his early 30s, but it’s not clear if he was the driver or the passenger. His identity hasn’t been released.
Two other people were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
