Missing Person William Mays Jr. of Taney County, MO

Taney County Sheriff Jimmie Russell said his office has no leads on a man who went missing from a Forsyth group home 11 days ago.

Police are looking for and asking for information regarding the whereabouts of 35-year-old William Mays Jr.

Russell said the investigation will remain a missing person case unless evidence suggesting otherwise is found.

“We don’t know that he’s dead. We don’t know that any harm has come to him,” Russell said. “For all we know he could be off somewhere he wants to be.”

Mays Jr., was last reportedly seen walking near Empire Electric Park on Y Highway.

Russell said Mays Jr., had been off his psychiatric medication for several days before leaving the home.

Mays Jr. is a white male standing 6-feet 8-inches tall, weighing 250 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Russell asks anyone with information regarding Mays’ whereabouts to contact his office at 417-546-7250 or the appropriate local police agency.
