Private Detective: Air Conditioning Units Stolen From Church

Leaders at Crosspointe Church in Versailles say they were surprised to find out their air conditioning units were stolen Saturday night.

“Well, my thought would be that we’re disappointed number one that anyone would do that,” said Pastor Bryan Roberts.

As members of the Church started to arrive for services Sunday morning, they realized one of their buildings had a higher than usual temperature.

“Downstairs it had already warmed up to about 74 degrees, and we usually keep it at about 71, so it wasn’t too bad. But the upstairs was already at 80 degrees,” said Pastor Roberts.

A maintenance worker found two air conditioning units, with an estimated value of about $5,000, had been stolen. The building is used as a fellowship hall and educational annex, with houses classrooms for activities like Sunday School.

Church leaders believe the thieves may have been watching the property. If you have any information, you’re asked to call Versailles Police.
