Private Detective: Alleged Bourbon County Bank Robber Arrested

A man is behind bars Saturday after police say he walked into a Bourbon County bank armed with a gun and demanded cash while customers were inside.

It was shortly after 11 o’clock Saturday morning when police say 51-year-old Billy Sanders walked into the Kentucky Bank on Lexington Road in Paris with a mask on and demanded money.

Bank managers say they were open and had customers in the building when the man came through the front doors. The tellers quickly complied with his demands for cash before he ran off. Police say Sanders’ vehicle was parked at another business down the road.

Information from witnesses later helped officers track the vehicle into Harrison County.

Sanders, who is from Cynthiana, was detained by state police just before 1 p.m. Saturday in Harrison County. He’s currently charged with robbery and 12 counts of wanton endangerment.
