A former youth pastor and soccer referee in Charlottesville has pleaded guilty to four counts of soliciting sex to minors.
Jonathan Schyner pleaded guilty to the charges in a Louisa County courtroom on Monday. According to a press release from Louisa County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rusty McGuire, the he 54-year-old Schnyer solicited who he thought was a fourteen-year-old female over the course of nine months from April 2014 to January 2015. He was identified and arrested following an investigation by detectives.

“Mr. Schnyer’s pattern of conduct caught up with him,” McGuire said in the release. “He attempted to engage in this behavior without any regard for the innocence of a child. We hope these convictions send the message that any effort to harm children will be met with severe repercussions.”
Sentencing has been scheduled for February 29. Schnyer faces up to 120 years in prison.
