Missing Person Body Of Missing Fort Thomas Man Found

The search for a missing Fort Thomas man is over.

Search crews found Chad Smith’s body Saturday morning along the Ohio River near Paul Brown Stadium.

Chad Smith was last seen Monday when he left his home in Fort Thomas, Kentucky on foot.

On Saturday morning, Texas Equusearch joined in on efforts to find him.

They had about 100 people on the streets around the metro area of Cincinnati and parts of northern Kentucky, but it was the team was assigned to the area along the river in between the two stadiums that ended up finding Smith’s body.

According to Dave Rader with Texas Equusearch, at around 10:45 Saturday morning he received word there was a body near a brush line by Paul Brown Stadium.

Police say the 36-year-old left his home early in the week with no coat, wallet, car or cell phone.

He was spotted in Winton Terrace at one point earlier in the week. A woman reportedly took him in, fed him and gave him clothes.

When assisting in missing person searches, Rader says each case is obviously different, but this stands out from others.

“What’s difficult, from a strategy stand point, is when you have somebody that is mobile,” said Rader. “9 times out of 10, when we do get the call, usually we are looking for a body, but in this case he was last seen alive and well up in Winton Terrace so we knew it would be a difficult search only from the standpoint that he was mobile. ”

There are still a lot of answered questions as to why Smith walked away from his home and what the official cause of death will be.

The Hamilton County Coroner will perform an autopsy to figure out how Smith died.
