Wrongful Death Man Indicted, Arrested in Wolfe Co. Hit and Run Death

A man has been arrested after police told them he thought he had hit a deer on the road. Sadly, he had struck a pedestrian, killing him.

It was exactly two months to the day that Jamie Robinson was hit and killed along this stretch of KY 191 in Wolfe County. Now, a grand jury has indicted Keith Branham Wednesday. Deputies immediately arrested him for the Christmas Eve hit-and-run death of 32-year-old Robinson.

Branham told investigators he thought he’d hit a deer because it was dark when it happened. The grand jury heard all the evidence in the case this week and returned an indictment on charges of reckless homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and operating without a license.

Branham’s mother told LEX 18 that her son and Jamie were friends. She told Kristen Pflum that had he known Jamie was walking alone that night, he would’ve stopped to give him a ride. She said it had been raining, that it was extremely foggy that night and what happened was just a terrible accident.

Branham is being held on those charges at the Three Forks Regional Jail in Beattyville. He declined to be interviewed.
