KSP Troopers say that Wyatt shot Lawson after Lawson told him he was under arrest.

Lawson was hit in the pelvis and the knee. He returned fire and shot Wyatt in the left shoulder.

Wyatt then ran away and hid in a field three blocks away. KSP found and arrested him.

Lawson was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. Wyatt is in the medical center in Bowling Green.

Both Lawson and Wyatt are stable.

A woman who works at a nearby ice cream shop told our sister station WSMV that she heard six gunshots on Thursday afternoon, then she turned to see the officer running.
