They say she altered LHSC records to conceal the fraud.

She’s charged with three counts of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card over $10,000, one count of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card over $500, one count of Theft by Deception, one count of Receiving Goods by Fraud and one count of Unlawful Access to a Computer, first degree.

Police continue to investigate this case.

Marcey Ansley, the executive director of LHSC released the following statement,

“The Board and the Staff of the Lexington Hearing and Speech Center are aware of charges having been filed against one of its former employees for theft-related activity.  The Center, having discovered some discrepancies in its books a number of weeks ago through its own internal audit processes, immediately initiated an internal investigation to determine the origin and scope of the discrepancy, and has since cooperated fully with law enforcement in its own investigation.

Despite the losses associated with this activity, the operations of the Center are not, and have not been threatened in any way. In addition, there is no indication that the data of any of the participants or any of the employees of the Center has been compromised.  The Center will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and the prosecuting authorities.

The Center assures the families who look to it for invaluable services that there will be no interruption or impact on their experiences. The Center’s commitment to its critical mission of creating sound beginnings, is unaffected by these sad events.  We cannot thank our families, clients and supporters enough for their continued support of LHSC.”
