A Hopkins County man is in jail after police say he tried to kill a woman.
Madisonville Police say 68-year-old Roderick Brinkley hit a woman’s head with a hammer. It happened Saturday night on Murray Street.

Officers say Brinkley admitted he intended to kill the woman.
Brinkley now faces charges of attempted murder.
