Wrongful Death Two Bodies Found in Mount Sterling

Two bodies have been found in two different counties in just as many days. State police are working to determine if the two homicides are connected.

Saturday afternoon in Montgomery County, a fisherman found man’s body along Slate Creek. State police have arrested Carla Hunt and Talmadge Branham and charged them with tampering with physical evidence in connection to that man’s death.

According to an arrest citation, Hunt and Branham were with three men at a cabin in Wolfe County. At some point, there was an altercation that ended with one of the men being shot. The group allegedly dropped the body off in Montgomery County, and then Hunt and Branham allegedly took the others back to Lexington and took them to a gentleman’s club.

The name of the victim hasn’t been released, but investigators say he is from Dayton, Ohio.

The citation says Hunt and Branham then washed blood out of the rental car, before returning it to an Enterprise location.

Now, police have discovered a second body in Wolfe County. The Wolfe County coroner confirms the victim was a female. Her body was found at a private campground off Highway 11 Sunday morning, near Cave Hollow Road in the Slade community. The cause of death hasn’t been determined pending an autopsy in Frankfort.
