Private Detective: Lexington Police Looking For Group of Thieves

Thieves have broken into dozens of cars in the south side of Lexington recently.

Police say that the group has broken into around 30 cars, some at Shillito Park, some at Wellington Park and Cardinal Run Park.

“They look around to make sure no body’s observing them.  But once they’re free and clear, they start smashing windows of cars and they start taking purses and wallets and any electronics or valuables people have in there,” said Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department.

Police say that the thieves are riding around in a Purple Chevy Tracker with a soft top.

Detectives have identified two women, Christina Davis and Mary Houp, they say that up to four people are likely involved.

Detectives are looking for one man who was caught on surveillance cameras at places like gas stations and discount stores using stolen credit cards for things like cigarettes. They believe he is involved with these car break-ins.

Police also say that the people involved in the car break-ins are also connected to a home burglary off of Nicholasville Road.
