Missing Person Alvin Watts of Cherokee County, OK

Police are still working to locate an elderly man missing from southern Cherokee County since Thursday, according to a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Alvin Watts, 73, a resident of rural Park Hill, was reported missing Thursday morning after his family had not seen or heard from him in over a day.

Officers found Watts’ vehicle, a 2010 Chevrolet pickup, Friday morning in the Cherokee Game Refuge, the release states.

The pickup was disabled at Beaver Mountain Road approximately 1.3 miles north of Blue Top Road and south of the Beaver Mountain observation tower, the release states.

Police conducted a ground search on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, according to the release.

Police used dogs, horses and terrain vehicles in addition to a foot search. Three air searches were also conducted.

Watts recently underwent back surgery and is taking prescription medication for the pain.

Watts is described as a 5-foot-7 white man weighing between 140 and 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Watts’ whereabouts is asked to contact their nearest law-enforcement agency.
