Private Detective: Reward Offered in Barbourville Burglary

State Police in Harlan say that a reward is being offered for the return of a stolen safe and information on whoever stole it.

The victim is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The victim is also offering a $25,000 reward for the return of the safe unopened.

State Police say that a preliminary investigation indicated that a residential garage located off Swan Pond Road was broken into. The individual(s) that broke into the garage stole a large safe containing a large amount of cash, gold, coins, and guns, according to State Police. They say that the individual(s) then loaded the safe into the victim’s 2003 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition pick-up truck which was parked in the driveway. According to state police, it spears the truck and safe were stolen and the individual(s) drove out onto Ky 11 South toward Whitley County.

The stolen F-150 was located burnt on Tyes Ferry Road in the Rockholds community of Whitley County. State Police say that the safe has not been located.
