Private Detective: Former Paintsville Mayor Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison

Former Paintsville Mayor Bob Porter will spend four years in prison, following his sentencing on federal theft and bribery charges.

Porter was sentenced to 48 months in prison, slightly less than the suggested of 51 to 62 months.

U.S. District Judge Danny Reeves said he took into account Porter’s previous good works and his lack of a criminal record. Porter was found guilty in September following a trial over allegations that he used city and federal money to pay for personal expenses.
