Private Detective: Police Looking For Woman Who Broke Into Car, Stole Purse

An afternoon of fun for a Lexington mother and her children was ruined when someone broke into her car and stole her purse.

The mother was at the indoor fun park Malibu Jack’s with her kids when police say another woman broke into her car.

Detectives say the woman was caught on surveillance camera using the stolen credit cards at businesses near Malibu Jack’s.

“We have a good surveillance image of this woman, and we’re hoping people will look at her and be able to tell us, and call us and say who she is,” said Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department.

Lexington police say that these types of car break-ins and thefts are very common right now and they are cracking down on them.

“These guys can hit 20 to 30 targets in a night and they generate a lot of paperwork and a lot of headaches for a lot of our good citizens here,” said Thomas.

“We know if we get them on paper and get them locked up then hopefully, in the spring and summer months, when it’s warmer, and these guys typically are really out in force, that we’ll be able to curb that a little bit,” said Detective Thomas.
