Wrongful Death Murder Victim’s Cause of Death Discovered

The man accused of murdering a Northern Kentucky couple in 2016, then dumping their bodies miles away, is scheduled to appear in the Washington County Courtroom at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

For the relatives of Crystal Warner and Bobby Jones, it’s the first time they will see Pennington since Warner was buried over the weekend.

Officials now have confirmed she died from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Relatives hope the case moves forward for Craig Pennington, who is the man accused of murdering Warner and her boyfriend, Bobby Jones, over the 4th of July weekend in 2016.

Family said Warner and Jones were Pennington’s landlords when he was behind on rent.

The couple paid a visit to Pennington, according to family, trying to evict him.

Months later, officers said the two were found dead miles away from home.

Bobby’s body was found in Clark County in August, and Crystal’s found in Bath County in November.

Although, it wasn’t until recently Crystal got to come home because medical examiners were collecting whatever evidence they could.

Pennington faces two counts of murder, robbery, kidnapping, tampering with physical evidence, theft, wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening, abuse of a corpse and menacing and felon in possession of handgun.
