Private Detective: Casey Co. Mother Offering Reward For Late Son’s Vehicle

Almost three years after losing her son in an accident, a Casey County mother is offering a reward to get back part of her son’s legacy that was stolen.

Austin Mincey was just 14-years-old when he lost his life in a motocross accident.

A few days ago, Austin’s mother, Julie, said she noticed someone stole something she said is near and dear to her heart, right from her garage. Now, she is determined to get it back.

Julie told LEX 18 that two Sundays ago, she noticed that someone had broken into her garage and stole a Polaris Rzr vehicle. It’s more than another vehicle. For Julie, it has sentimental value. She said that she bought it for Austin when he broke his femur, in hopes that she could interest him in something other than motocross.

Julie told LEX 18 that the stolen Polaris should be easy to spot because it has decals with Austin’s number, 173, on it.

“It’s very sentimental. I’m offering a reward. I won’t ask any questions. If somebody would just bring it back, I would give them a thousand dollars. I just want it back,” she said.

Anybody with any information should contact the Casey County Sheriff’s Office.
