An investigation that started with one burglary uncovered six others throughout Rowan County.
The Rowan County Sheriff tells LEX 18 that the suspects hit seven different spots and stole thousands of dollars worth of items.
The thieves hit one business and five homes. Most of the stolen property was household items, ranging from groceries to TVs and microwaves. Due to the investigation, most of the items have been returned to their rightful owners.

The Sheriff tells us the suspects would then pawn the merchandise, and take the cash.
“You don’t have people stealing to feed families, they’re usually stealing to feed drug addictions, so I think that’s a big part of it also,” Sheriff Matt Sparks told LEX 18’s Conroy DeLouche
Most of the items have been returned to the homeowners, although a few are still unclaimed. The names of the suspects have not been released yet, pending a grand jury investigation.
