Austin police are asking for the public’s help in uncovering the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman whose body was found Friday morning at Duncan Park in downtown Austin.
Officers with the Austin Police Department’s park division reported that the woman, later identified as Valerie Louise Godoy, 34, suffered blunt force trauma, officials said.
Godoy was found in an area of the park set aside for dirt bike racing, the 900 block of West Ninth Street, about 7:30 a.m. during a routine patrol by park police, Austin police Cpl. Anthony Hipolito said.
Police are asking that any witnesses who may have been at the park around the time of her death contact authorities. Any tips can be called into the Austin police homicide tip line at 477-3588.
