Missing Person Darrold Bendush

KALKASKA — A search began today in Kalkaska for a 76 year old man named Darrold Bendush. He’s been missing for the past two days, and officials believe some legal issues may be the reason Bendush left.

The Kalkaska Police Deptartment has teamed up with the Michigan Deptartment of Corrections and local K-9 units to search for the man. They are using GPS tracking technology to grid search for him.

Officials searched a two to three mile area around Bendush’s last known location, a McDonald’s, near a storage unit he owns, and throughout a 40-acre wooded property near Kalkaska.

Officials have also entered him into a national database for voluntarily missing individuals.

The Kalkaska Police Sergeant, Glenn Artress, stated, “There’s nothing that says Mr. Bendush is an endangered person. He left on his own free will, he’s not dependant on any meds, he’s not dependant on oxygen. Mr. Bendush is actually a pretty stable individual.”

Bendush is about 6’3″ and 180 pounds with blue eyes and sandy blonde hair. He has a scar on his face. If you see this man you’re asked to call the Kalkaska Police.
