Missing Person Colorado Springs PI Has Joined the Search for Dylan Redwine

The father of a missing boy from the Colorado Springs area has asked local private investigators to join the search. Dylan Redwine went missing last November.

Hundreds of volunteers have given their time to search for the missing 13-year-old.

Tracy Kostecki is now one of them.

“It’s difficult because all of us have our children; it puts it on a real personal level,” Kostecki said Tuesday.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

She is a private investigator with Colorado Springs based Rocky Mountain Investigations. Dylan’s dad Mark asked Tracy and her husband to join the search. They agreed to join the case pro-bono.

They’ve now traveled a number of times to where Dylan disappeared near Durango, going back over areas that have already been scoured.

“There’s a lot of information out there, new information that I don’t think has been looked at,” Kostecki said. “Everything is promising at this point.

Although she can’t give specifics, Tracy says Dylan’s dad is cooperating. She’s looking for any and every small hint.

“The most important goal is finding what happened to this little boy,” she said.

Even the smallest useful piece of information could be the key to solving this mystery.

Dylan’s family here is holding a celebration in Monument Wednesday, which is Dylan’s 14th birthday.
It’s at Limbach Park on Front Street at 6:30 p.m.

Missing Person Found Using Project Lifesaver

Wakulla County Sheriff’s investigators were able to find a missing woman with special needs through Project Lifesaver search and rescue equipment, according to Sheriff Charlie Creel.

The woman was found on Monday, February 4. She went missing after she wandered away from her relative and caregiver at a local Walmart store. Wakulla County Sheriff’s officials organized a search team because the woman couldn’t be found inside the store.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

The missing woman was found thanks to the fact that she was wearing a Project Lifesaver bracelet, and investigators were able to track her through the device. WCSO detectives and deputies found her tangled up in weeds and brush on a fence line on the northern side of the structure.

“She was safe and sound, unharmed, just disoriented,” said Sheriff Creel. “Project Lifesaver is an outstanding program and has helped the sheriff’s office locate many missing citizens in a short period of time over the years.”

The following investigators helped find the missing woman: Detective Matt Helms, Detective Ryan Muse, Sgt. Mike Helms, Lt. Andy Curles, Victim Advocates Laurie Langston and Paige Strickland and Captain Randall Taylor who operated the search equipment.

The Project Lifesaver bracelet emits a radio signal that is sent out to the search device and helps law enforcement locate missing citizens who are wearing the bracelet. Most of the residents who have been located by the Project Lifesaver equipment over the years have been older citizens, but it is effective for all ages.

For more information about the program, call the Wakulla County Senior Citizens Center at 850-926-7145 or WCSO Captain Randall Taylor at 850-745-7100.

Missing Person Case Again in Spot Light After Ex-Husband Killed in Crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Joyce Crider’s mother tells WKYT that she fears she may never know what happened to her daughter now that her ex-husband, Bill Crider has died.

Lexington Police say have they have not lost hope in solving this case.

“I mean there is always a chance that information has been lost. We can’t focus on that,” says Sgt. Pete Ford, with Lexington Police.

Instead Lexington Police are focused on following up on leads and generating new ones now that the missing person case has regained public attention.”Joyce Crider is the focus of this investigation. And we would like to be able to move forward and the family of Mrs. Crider to move forward as well,” adds Ford.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Bill Crider was killed in a single vehicle car crash on Sunday in Eastern Kentucky.

Joyce’s mother believes her daughters ex-husband killed her and that he would’ve been the only one to know where her body is. Police say Bill Crider is not a suspect or even a person of interest in the missing person case.

Crider disappeared more than a decade ago, but police say solving the case remains a top priority. “We work this case like any other case. Obviously this case has been open for a period of years. As information comes in, we will continue to follow up on that,” Ford adds.

Police are asking anyone with information on Joyce Crider’s 2002 disappearance to contact them.

Identity Theft Suspect in Jail in Madison, WI

An identity theft suspect is in custody after trying to open a credit card under a second assumed identity at the same store in less than a week.

On Sunday, an Old Navy staffer at the store near East Towne Mall in Madison thought a customer looked familiar. The woman tried to open a credit card. The staffer realized it was the same person who had opened another account a few days before, under a different identity, and walked away with $1,000 in gift cards.

liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

Police believe the suspect was using a doctored Vermont drivers license. Receipts indicate she may have bought thousands of dollars in gift cards from other local stores under other identities, possibly traveling outside the state to cash them in on unsuspecting businesses.

“These thieves are professionals,” said Joe Campana, who advises businesses on how to prevent and recover from identity theft. “An inexperienced thief will go in and do something like that the first time, and very likely get caught, but an experienced thief will be testing and seeing ‘Hey, is this gonna work?’ They’ll do $20 gift certificates.”

The Old Navy suspect, who authorities are still trying to identify, purchased cards from at least five stores in Madison including a Boston store where she walked away with $1,000 credit.

“It’s cheap for a crook, it’s relatively easy, doesn’t require any kind of investment in terms of a computer or modem or anything like that,” said Wisconsin Trade and Consumer Protection Administrator Sandy Chalmers. “They may not realize it until months later and in the meantime the thief has continued to open up new lines of credit and bank accounts or home loans in your name.”

Chalmers says a call to one of the three major credit reporting agencies should be among a victim’s first. That can limit what accounts can be opened in your name. She also recommends not carrying your social security card number on your person.

Fraud cases claim about $2 billion every year in the US, a quarter of the cases involving credit cards.
