Missing Person Ok Woman Found in Dry Creek Bed

POCOLA — Authorities found the body of a 74-year-old woman missing for several weeks in a dry creek bed on Saturday, her family has confirmed.

Ruby Poole went missing on Oct. 17 after she wandered off from a relative’s home in the eastern Oklahoma town, her daughter, Leslye Burke, said on Sunday. Poole had dementia and required medication.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Burke learned from authorities Saturday evening that her mother’s body had been found in the creek bed in Pocola by an individual walking in the area, she said. A bridge would have obscured the view of drivers looking for Poole, Burke said.

It’s not clear what happened, but foul play doesn’t seem likely, Burke said.

“Nothing was missing, like her jewelry and money,” she said. “Everything seemed to be in tact.”

Burke said police told her “She looked like she just sat down to rest and died.”

Burke described her mother as a loving parent who loved children, and as a devoted Christian who cherished singing at church.

Poole attended Union Baptist Church for decades. Though her memory and health faded over time, she never forgot the songs she sang, Burke said.

“She didn’t know her day of the week but she’d start her day wanting to know if it was Sunday,” Burke said.

Rochester, NY – A Rochester man has been charged by the Rochester Fire Department’s Arson Task Force with Arson in the Second Degree after police say he set fire to a house while two children were inside it.

According to the Rochester Fire Department, 37-year-old Jerome Tavolino was arrested Saturday after police received a tip from a concerned citizen.

Shortly before 9 a.m. on Friday, firefighters were called to 179 Kilmar St. for the report of a structure fire. The blaze was put out after a short amount of time.

According to firefighters, the preliminary investigation into the blaze revealed that two children, an 11-year-old boy and his three-year-old sister, were in the house at the time of the fire.

Firefighters say the boy helped his sister escape the house by pulling her through a bedroom window and onto the roof of the house garage.

Tavolino is currently being held in Monroe County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Private Detective Body Found in Trunk at Tow Yard in Azusa, CA

Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a woman whose nude body was found Tuesday evening inside the trunk of a car at a tow yard.

KNX 1070′s Jon Baird reports the body was found just after 5 p.m. in the tow yard located at 1000 W. Gladstone Street in Azusa.

The red Honda Accord was hauled to the location earlier in the day after a worker reported the car was illegally parked on a horse ranch in the 3700 block of Fish Canyon Road.

http://liarcatchers.com/index.php

Cesar Beltran, the driver who towed the car to the yard, discovered the body after doing a routine inspection of the vehicle.

“I was doing my inventory and it asks us if it has a spare tire, so I popped the trunk to check if it had a spare tire. As soon as I opened the trunk I just seen the body laying in there,” Beltran said.

Beltran said there was no obvious damage to the car and there were numerous pieces of clothing inside.

Detectives said Wednesday they believed the car was owned by the woman, whose identity has not been released.

Coroner’s officials believe the woman was in her 60s.

“It is unknown at this time how the woman’s body got into the trunk of the car or what was the cause of her death,” sheriff’s officials said in a statement.

Detectives are investigating both the ranch and the car while they await the coroner’s report.

“The LA County Sheriff’s Department has come in to try and determine if there is any foul play, if this could be an overdose, an accident or how her body ended up in the trunk,” Lt. John Corina said.

Anyone with information about the case should call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
