The director of the Marion County High School Band is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to the Lebanon Enterprise.
Curtis Bennett, 33, is charged with unlawful transaction with a minor and video voyeurism.

Family and friends continue to search for one missing Nelson County mom.
Crystal Rogers went missing last summer; her longtime boyfriend is considered a suspect in her disappearance.
Although there is no concrete evidence that Crystal’s boyfriend, Brooks Houck, played a role in her disappearance, her parents say they won’t let him slip through the cracks. Wednesday morning Crystal’s parents went to the Nelson County courthouse and asked the state to make sure that Houck not be allowed to leave Kentucky.

The decision has been delayed until later this month.
While the court searches for a solution, Crystal’s family continues to search for her. They say they’ve already covered close to 20 thousand acres.

A Powell County man has been sentenced for killing his wife last April in their home.
A judge sentenced James Hood to eight year in prison and five years probation after shooting his wife in the stomach. The five years of probation is included with the eight year sentence. The year he has already spent in prison will go toward the eight year sentence, meaning he will get out of prison next year.

During the sentencing on Wednesday, the judge went through notes on the case that stated witnesses at the scene of the shooting saw Hood’s wife, Rosena, shoot a dog and throw it into a fire at a party. After that, they say that Hood and his wife went for the gun and Rosena ended up being shot in the stomach.
She was rushed to the hospital and later died.
The judge also briefly mentioned a case in which Hood faced charges involving controlled substances. His wife was involved with that case too. The sentencing for that case was included in the second degree manslaughter charges.

On November 10, 1985, the unidentified remains of an adult female (victim 1) and a juvenile female (victim 2) were discovered in a 55-gallon metal barrel covered with a tarp. They were located in a wooded area behind a trailer park adjacent to Bear Brook State Park near Allenstown, New Hampshire. Victim 1 is a white female aged 22 to 33, and victim 2 is a white female aged 5 to 11. On May 9, 2000, a second barrel was discovered approximately 100 yards from the first with the skeletal remains of victims 3 and 4. Victim 3 is a white female aged 2 to 4, and victim 4 is a white female aged 1 to 3. All four victims were killed between 1980 and 1985 and possibly as early as 1977. DNA analysis revealed that victim 1 is the mother of 2 and 4. Victim 3 is not maternally related to victim 1, yet, there is a possibility of paternal relationship to the other juveniles. All four victims likely were living in the same area for the last 2 to 3 months of their lives.

On Saturday, March 7, 2015, a human skull was found by kids in a wooded area in West Chester, Ohio. Evidence collected in the area suggests that the individual was wearing a Bobby Brooks brand white, short-sleeved, pull-over shirt with red and blue horizontal stripes; Faded Glory brand blue jeans (size 12); and SAS brand black tie shoes. Found nearby was a blue denim cloth bag with a black fanny pack containing a pair of scissors, a knife, a lighter, and cotton candy lip gloss. Items also recovered, which may be associated with the victim, include two pairs of eyeglasses (prescription and reading) and a pair of gloves. This individual most likely died within the past 6 months.

Two days after Diane disappeared, her 1994 turquoise Pontiac Grand Prix was found securely parked at the Weis Market parking lot in Hanover, Pennsylvania. On Wednesday, October 26, 1994, a hunter found the nude remains of a white female, between 30 to 50 years old, 50 to 75 yards north of Bamfield Road, located in Huron National Forest. This location is approximately two-tenths of a mile east of the Brodie Road and Bamfield Road intersection in Glennie, Michigan. It is estimated that this victim died 1 to 4 years prior to her remains being found. She suffered a fracture to her left arm just above the elbow years prior to her death. The victim also displayed evidence of healed injuries to the spinal column in the upper and lower thoracic region. These injuries may be the result of a traffic accident. On 09/23/1980 at approximately 12:19 p.m., the body of a black female was located in the Cal-Sag Channel in Alsip, Illinois. The victim was facedown in the fetal position, naked from the waist down with six stab wounds to her back and two to her chest. She was bound with an electrical cord around her hands and had a neck tie around her neck, which also bound one hand to her upper legs. Her face was covered with adhesive tape. She was found wearing a blue wool sweater, dark floral blouse, and a beige bra.

A 31-year-old Johnson County man will serve at least 40 years in prison for sexually molesting an 8-year-old girl.
Robert Donovan Burton was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison with no chance of parole for 40 years for abusing the girl at an Olathe home in late 2012 and early 2013.

The Kansas City Star reports it was Burton’s second conviction for a sex crime involving a child. In 2005, he pleaded guilty in Johnson County District Court to attempted rape of a child younger than 14. In that case, his 12-year-old victim later gave birth to a child fathered by Burton.
The girl in the latest case reported to authorities that Burton molested her after showing her pornographic videos on his cellphone.
The Indiana man accused of stabbing and killing a 6-year-old Versailles boy during a home invasion pleaded not guilty.
Police say Ronald Exantus stabbed Logan Tipton to death during a home invasion last year.
Officers said Logan was in his room asleep when Exantus allegedly entered the home and stabbed him. Police said after the stabbing, Logan’s father got into a fight with Exantus in the home’s hallway. Logan’s sisters were also assaulted. Officers arrested Exantus at the scene.

It was the first time that Logan Tipton’s family had seen Exantus since that tragic night in December. Family members filled the first two rows of the courtroom.
Afterwards, Logan Tipton’s mother issued a statement to the media.
“I just wanted to say thank you to the whole community and everyone for their thoughts and prayers and support and just continue to keep my family especially my children in your prayers,” Heather Pujol-Tipton told reporters.
Exantus’ attorney, Bridget Hofler told LEX 18 that her client is mentally unstable.
“His mental state is in and out. Some days are better than others. He is obviously not himself, nor has he been since I’ve come to know him.” Hofler told LEX 18.
The hearing was held in Woodford County’s District Court building. Exantus waived formal arraignment.
A Woodford County grand jury indicted Exantus for murder, burglary and assault. He could face the death penalty.
A Bedford woman was sentenced to more than two years in prison and ordered to pay nearly $150,000 in restitution for an identity theft and tax fraud scheme, law enforcement officials announced Monday.
Michelle Devine was sentenced to 28 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Dan Polster, and ordered to pay $149,616 in restitution.
Devin, 44, pleaded guilty last year to one count of aggravated identity theft, four counts of theft of government property and one count of filing false claims for income tax refunds.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department arrested a registered sex offender for child pornography on Tuesday.
Robert Kimball, 44, of Mount Pleasant was arrested for possession of child pornography, a 3rd degree felony, and for Sex Offenders Duty to Register, also a 3rd degree felony.

After a two-month investigation, detectives tracked electronic communications sent to Kimball in which he received child pornography.
A search of Kimball’s home also uncovered multiple items used to view and store child pornography. Additional evidence was located linking Kimball to other offenses in another jurisdiction.
Kimball was taken to the Titus County Jail where he will be arraigned by a magistrate.
A 33-year-old New Jersey man was arrested on drug charges Monday following an Interstate 91 traffic stop when a police dog led state police to some heroin and cocaine hidden in the vehicle, state police said.
Dion Johnson of Linden, New Jersey, was stopped on I-91 North near exit 22 by Trooper Robert Wyckoff for a motor vehicle violation just before 9 a.m., said Trooper Dustin Fitch of the State Police media relations bureau.

Johnson was placed in custody when a records check showed his New Jersey drivers license had been suspended, Finch said.
Trooper K-9 Matthew Donah, who responded to the scene to assist Wyckoff, had his dog, Brutus, search the vehicle. The dog alerted troopers to several locations inside the car to where drugs were found.
Troopers found 250 packets of heroin and a bag of cocaine.
He was charged with possession of a class B substance, cocaine, possession of a class A substance, heroin, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle equipment violation, Fitch said.
Johnson was booked at the state police barracks in Northampton and arraigned at Hampshire District Court.
Police are looking for a man who has been breaking into cars in a South Lexington neighborhood.
“One of the unique things you’ll notice about him in the video is he’s got on almost like a reflective jacket. A lot of time we’ll see city workers or road workers that wear that kind of jacket,” Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department told LEX 18’s Kristen’s Pflum.

Police say that the burglar is targeting cars on Haverwood Drive. One of the iPads stolen had the GPS tracking device turned on so they were able to find out that it was in Geogetown. Lexington Police are currently working with Gerogetown Police to identify the suspect.
Lexington Police say he hit at least two cars on December 5, stealing an iPad and other small electronics.
“This guy particularly goes up to car doors and he’s trying the door handles to get them open and when he finds one open, in this case he went straight in and took some belongings,” said Thomas.
He was caught on someone’s surveillance camera.
