The Fayette County Coroner’s Office tells LEX 18 that the man who was shot early Friday morning has died.

Family members say Joseph McDowell, 28, was found with several gunshot wounds early New Year’s morning lying on a driveway on Roosevelt Drive.

Lieutenant Clay Combs with the Lexington Police Department tells LEX 18 that “Anyone on Roosevelt that might have seen this individual or seen someone out in some kind of argument or anything like that would be someone we would want to call us and give us any information they might have. Sometimes even small pieces of information could be exactly what we’re looking for.”

The Coroner’s Office says an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday morning.

Police are asking for help finding a 16-year-old Maryland girl who, they say, was last seen in the company of an older man.

Nija Williams, of Hanover, Maryland, has been missing since Dec. 21, 2015.

She was last seen with an older white man at a shopping center in the Annapolis area, said Anne Arundel County Police.

The man was seen driving a dark-colored pickup truck, they said. Police have released images of both the man and the truck.

Williams also had her dog, a Pomeranian, with her.

Chicago Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 12-year-old girl who went missing New Year’s Day from her West Elsdon neighborhood home on the Southwest Side.

Stephany Portes, of the 3800 block of West 55th Place, was last seen wearing a blue or black hooded sweatshirt with blue jeans and brown boots, according to a missing person alert issued Friday afternoon.

The 5-foot-2, 160-pound Hispanic girl sometimes goes by the name “Steph” and might have been wearing black plastic frame glasses, the alert said.

She is known to spend time in the western suburbs of Villa Park, Oak Brook and West Chicago, police said.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has reached out to the public asking for help looking for a missing person on Friday.

23-year-old Elijah Joe Sharp was reported missing, last seen by his parents around 9:30 p.m. Thursday after leaving the house following an argument.

His last possible known location was in Manitou Springs around the Barr Trail trailhead, but El Paso County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t know where he may have gone from there.

The Sheriff’s Office said they are particularly concerned for his safety as they have located his vehicle and it appears he may have several firearms in his possession.

Elijah is 5-foot-11 and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He had brown hair and brown eyes.

Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron says that a Nancy, Ky man was arrested for a theft that occurred at the Lake Cumberland 4H Educational Center in the Jabez area.

Glen Ran “Randall” Dixon was arrested on theft by unlawful taking charges after a long investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.

The investigation revealed that more than 32,000 rounds of ammunition with the estimated cost of more than $3,400 were taken.

The ammunition is used by children attending the 4H Camp in the Education of Gun Safety Training.

Deputy Cody Neal has obtained another arrest warrant for a second individual involved in the theft.

Dixon was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
