Private Detective: Whitley County Couple Allegedly Rob Man Who Gave Them A Ride

A Whitley County couple is facing charges after deputies say they robbed a man who gave them a ride. 35-year-old Eddie Hoskins and 37-year-old Crystal Edwards were both arrested Saturday.

Deputies say on Friday, Hoskins told another man he was homeless and asked for a ride to pick up his girlfriend who was panhandling at Wal-Mart. After picking up the Edwards, the man drove the couple to a home on Old Corbin Road, where Hoskins then allegedly pulled out a gun and demanded the man’s wallet, keys and cash. According to deputies the two men began fighting until the victim was able to get back into his car and get away. As he drove off, Hoskins threw a rock through the man’s windshield, investigators said.

The couple was arrested without incident the following day. Upon arrival at the jail, deputies also discovered a small plastic baggy believed to be containing drugs in Edwards’ purse.
