Private Detective: INOAC Corp. Pleaded Guilty to Fixing Prices on Auto Parts

INOAC Corp. has agreed to plead guilty and to pay a $2.35 million criminal fine for its role in a conspiracy to fix prices and rig bids on certain plastic interior trim automotive parts installed in cars sold to U.S. consumers.

According to the felony charge filed today in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Kentucky, INOAC, based in Nagoya, Japan, and others conspired from as early as June 2004 until at least September 2012 to fix prices and rig bids on parts sold to Toyota Motor Corp., including certain of its subsidiaries and affiliates in the United States and elsewhere.

“INOAC corrupted the competitive process by agreeing with its competitors to fix the prices of certain automotive parts installed in Toyota cars sold in the United States,” said Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brent Snyder of the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division. “Working with the FBI and our other law enforcement partners, the Antitrust Division will continue to protect American car buyers and hold automotive part suppliers accountable for their illegal conduct.”

“The FBI is committed to aggressively investigating individuals who engage in criminal conduct that corrupts the global marketplace,” said Special Agent in Charge Howard S. Marshall of the FBI’s Louisville Division. “We will continue our work with the Department of Justice Antitrust Division to uncover schemes aimed at creating an unfair competitive advantage by way of price fixing, bid rigging or other illegal means.”

Today’s plea is the result of an ongoing federal antitrust investigation into price fixing, bid rigging and other anticompetitive conduct in the automotive parts industry, which is being conducted by the Antitrust Division’s criminal enforcement sections and the FBI.

Including INOAC, 38 companies and 58 executives have been charged in the division’s ongoing investigation and have agreed to pay a total of more than $2.6 billion in criminal fines. INOAC is being prosecuted by the Antitrust Division’s Chicago Office and the FBI’s Louisville Field Office, Covington Resident Agency, with assistance from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Anyone with information on market allocation, price fixing, bid rigging and other anticompetitive conduct related to other products in the automotive parts industry should contact the Antitrust Division’s Citizen Complaint Center at 1-888-647-3258, visit www.justice.gov/atr/contact/newcase.html or call the FBI’s Louisville Field Office at 502- 263-6000.

Pedophile Tracking Portland, OR Man Accused of Luring Child For Sexual Photos

Portland resident Christopher Michael Scott was arrested today, Wednesday, Nov. 18, on accusations of illegal contact with a 13-year-old Gresham girl.

MCSD - Scott

Gresham police detectives said Scott first contacted the girl in August on MeetMe.com, a social networking site where people connect and engage in online dating.

Scott is a 22-year-old registered sex offender, police said, but on MeetMe.com claimed to be a 16-year-old boy from Portland named Jake Wolf.

Scott is accused of sending sexually explicit photographs of himself to the girl and asking her to send similar photographs in return. He is also accused of trying to arrange an in-person meeting with her.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Scott’s alleged illegal contact was discovered by the 13-year-old’s mother, who saw some of his messages on one of the family’s electronic devices. She immediately talked with her daughter about the communications and contacted police.

Scott is lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center, accused of second-degree online sexual corruption of a child, attempted use of a child in display of sexually explicit conduct, and luring a minor.

Detectives say they believe Scott may have engaged in similar conduct with other children in the Portland metro area.

Police are asking anyone who believes that Scott has had illegal contact with them or their child to call Gresham police at 503-618-2719.

Pedophile Tracking Man Arrested For Allegedly Pimping 4 Year Old Girl on Craigslist

A rural Cambridge man was arrested last week by police in Texas after police said he offered a 4-year-old girl for sex through an ad on Craigslist, according to Dane County authorities and a search warrant filed on Tuesday.

Andrew J. Turley, 28, was charged in a Houston court on Monday with one count of child sex trafficking and one count of compelling a child under 18 into prostitution, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Turley is being held on $500,000 bond on each charge, the Sheriff’s Office said.

According to the search warrant, filed in Dane County Circuit Court:

Police in Houston said an officer there saw the Craigslist ad in the “casual encounters” section advertising “play” with a little girl.

The officer responded to the ad, and began to converse by email with the person who posted it. Between Nov. 2 and Nov. 12, they exchanged 69 email messages. In them, the sender said he had a “young girl” who was “younger than 10,” and asked the officer if he was “generous.”

Taking that to be a request for money, the officer wrote that he could pay up to $1,000 for two hours with the girl.

Emails that followed detailed the types of sex acts that the officer could perform with the girl. On Nov. 11, the two sent text messages to one another and agreed to meet that day. In one of the texts, the advertiser said he was going to “give her sleep meds to get her to sleep.”

The meeting was rescheduled to Nov. 12. On that day, the officer got a text message from the advertiser, worried that the girl’s mother would come home. That morning, the officer received instructions to go to the parking lot of an apartment building in Houston and to show the money and a work identification card to the advertiser.

The officer parked as instructed and was approached by a man, later identified as Turley, to whom the officer showed an identification card and $1,000 in cash. He and Turley walked to an apartment, then into a bedroom, where the officer saw a child he believed to be 4 years old lying on a bed, groggy and going in and out of sleep.

Turley pulled back a blanket and exposed the child and told the officer to touch her. Turley was then arrested.

Back in Wisconsin, Turley’s home on Highway W in Utica, an unincorporated community in the town of Christiana, was searched Friday by Dane County authorities, who seized computers, digital storage media, a camera, a cellphone, a tablet computer and other items.

Sheriff’s investigators noted in the search warrant that they don’t know when Turley left Wisconsin and traveled to Texas, or where he was when he sent the messages to the officer. They noted that they are seeking a search warrant to determine that location.
