Authorities in Garrard County are asking for the public’s help with finding a missing man.

Deputies say Steven Lane, 51, has been missing since October 17th.

Lane lives in the Bryantsville area in Garrard County.

He drives a white 2004 Monte Carlo with a Kentucky temporary license plate.

Lane was last seen in Richmond.

Deputies in Laurel County say they’re investigating what lead to a fatal crash Saturday, According to investigators, the accident happened on I-75 near mile marker 36.

Deputies say shortly before noon, a man driving a tractor trailer in the southbound lane veered off the road. The truck went about 600 feet on an embankment before crashing into a tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner has identified the driver as 39-year-old Stanley Wyane Young of Booneville

Investigators in the case of a missing woman say they do not believe she left the west-central Minnesota area voluntarily and are seeking information about a car that may be involved.

The Johnson County Coroner said that just before 8 p.m. on Friday, a pedestrian was killed in Paintsville.

The coroner said the victim is a man, who was struck by a car near Route 321 and Starfire Hill. Investigators said the driver did stop after the crash.

Law enforcement expect to be on scene for the next few hours.

The coroner says he is still notifying the victim’s family and cannot release the victim’s name.

The coroner also said that the driver is a 16-year-old girl who was so shaken up by the accident that she had to go to the hospital. Police are talking to her to try and understand what happened.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow in Frankfort.

Three people were sentenced Friday in the 2014 shooting of 21-year-old Antonio Franklin in Duncan Park.

Anita Franklin, Antonio’s mother, says that she has forgiven the four young men involved, but it’s hard because nothing will bring back her son.

The shooting happened last April, police say that Nasheim and William Dixon were together at the park when Nashiem exchanged gunfire with two minors. Antonio was an innocent bystander who was shot and killed.

Nashiem Dixon was found guilty of manslaughter for pulling the trigger, he was sentenced to 10 years, the Commonwealth rejected his probation request. He said that he was in fear for his life and that a group was hunting him down and that the shooting was his only option.

William Dixon said in court that he whole heartedly regrets that he was apart of the whole situation and he apologized for his actions. He has been found guilty of wanton endangerment. He has served out his sentence and will be released.

Bryan Brown was found guilty of wanton endangerment. Brown was the driver of the vehicle in the shooting. He served out his sentence and will be released.

Damien Sanders had already been sentenced in the case. He was sentenced to seven years and he pled guilty to second degree manslaughter.

Anita Franklin fears that the boys have not learned from their mistakes and see it as a game.

While she forgives the boys involved, Anita holds their parents accountable.

Officials say that a Taylor County man was arrested on Wednesday and charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse.

Police say Michael Sweeney, 53, of Campbellsville, was charged with first degree Rape, 17 counts of first degree Sexual Abuse and three counts of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor.

He has been indicted by the Taylor County Grand Jury in reference to the ongoing investigation and has been lodged in the Taylor County Jail.

Lexington Police are investigating a robbery at a restaurant in the North side of town.

It happened around 8:15 Wednesday at the Lee’s Famous Recipe just off New Circle Road and Boardwalk. Police say a man approached the workers in the store’s kitchen with a knife, demanding cash.

He then ran away with the money and hasn’t been seen since.

Officers say the workers did not get a good look at the man because he had a cloth over part of his face.

A Clark County man is in jail after being accused of sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl.

30-year-old Jeremy Cecil was arrested Thursday night relating to allegations of an incident that happened in or around May 2015.

According to an arrest citation, Cecil committed sodomy upon and sexually abused the 5-year-old several times. Cecil was indicted by a grand jury on the charges.

He is being held in the Clark County Detention Center.
