Missing Person LaTrease Underwood of Coon Rapids, MN

A missing person report has been issued for a vulnerable adult who reportedly did not return home from a therapy appointment in Coon Rapids on Thursday.

LaTrease Underwood, 20, disappeared Thursday afternoon. She has mental health issues ranging from bipolar disorder to severe depression and has an IQ of 72, according to her mother, Onna Underwood.

“She has the mind-set and the mind level of a 10- or a 13-year-old, and she puts herself in very dangerous situations,” Onna Underwood said.

According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, LaTrease Underwood is a black woman who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 240 pounds. She has long brown hair with blonde braids.

On Thursday, LaTrease Underwood took a medical cab to the Family Life Center for a routine appointment, her mother said. Typically, LaTrease would call to say she’d arrived and again when she was on her way home.

But on Thursday, Onna Underwood didn’t get the second call. She was told by staff the LaTrease left with a man.

In the past, LaTrease has left home with men she met via social media websites.

Onna Underwood said she believes she’s identified the man from a Facebook page.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or contact the Coon Rapids police department at 763-427-1212.

Pedophile Tracking Tulsa Woman Sentenced to Five Life Terms

A Tulsa woman has been sentenced to five consecutive life terms after pleading no contest to sex crimes with a young male relative.

Melissa Kay Anderson, 35, was charged with five counts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12 in September after the boy told his father about the crimes, and he contacted authorities. She entered a plea of no contest in November.

Three of the counts pertain to sex acts that Anderson performed on the boy and made him perform on her. The other two counts accuse her of having sex with Michael Burris, her boyfriend and co-defendant, in front of the victim and showing the victim pornography.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

As she sat in the courtroom’s jury box Thursday awaiting District Judge Caroline Wall’s arrival for her sentencing, a red-faced Anderson wiped her eyes with a tissue and appeared to stifle strong emotions.

Assistant District Attorney Kevin Gray argued for Anderson to be incarcerated for life, calling the case the worst of its type he’s seen.“I don’t believe Ms. Anderson should breathe fresh air again,” Gray said.

Public defender Chuck Sullivan countered that the system had failed Anderson from a young age by not properly addressing and treating abuse she suffered as a child that resulted in her being placed in foster care. He maintained that a life sentence would be “excessive” and akin to failing her a second time by not allowing her to seek rehabilitation.

When asked whether she’d like to make a statement, Anderson’s sobs became audible as Sullivan leaned close to decipher her words. He relayed to the court that Anderson said, “I’m sorry.”

Aside from finding her guilty and issuing a sentence, the judge had few words for Anderson. Wall imposed life terms on all counts and then stated that based on “the heinous nature” of the crimes, the sentences will run consecutively to each other.

The author of Anderson’s presentencing investigation report, which is issued by the Department of Corrections, noted that she said the crimes occurred while she was high on methamphetamine and that she did not recall most of the incidents. However, she did state that she knew the victim would not lie about what had happened.

Burris, who remains in the Tulsa Jail, is charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12 and one count of permitting child sexual abuse. He has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a jury trial on May 11.

Missing Person Bodies Found in Burned Car Thought to be Missing Ohio Couple

Two bodies found in a burned-out car in Coshocton County yesterday afternoon are thought to be those of an elderly couple from northeastern Ohio who had been reported missing, authorities say.

Doyle Chumney, 88, and his wife, Lillian, 79, were reported missing on Wednesday from their home in Strasburg, which is in Tuscarawas County, about 20 miles south of Canton.

When the couple’s daughter went to their home, she discovered her parents gone, their car missing and the house ransacked, authorities said.

The Chumneys were supposed to pick up their son and take him to an airport on Wednesday morning but didn’t show up. They last had been heard from late Tuesday night.

A passer-by called the Coshocton County sheriff’s office yesterday afternoon to report a burned 1986 Pontiac Parisienne, matching the description of the Chumneys’ vehicle, on a seldom-used dirt road of Rt. 281 near Bakersville.

The state Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to help process the car.

Strasburg Police Chief Robert Kutcher told WBNS-TV (Channel 10) last night that the two bodies found in the car are thought to be those of the missing couple. Positive identification and causes of death won’t be declared until autopsies are done.

Kutcher said that it appears the Chumneys’ car was set on fire.

The chief also said that investigators believe more than one person was involved in the Chumneys’ disappearance, but he wouldn’t elaborate.

The couple’s daughter, who lives in Tuscarawas County, declined to comment last night.
