Wrongful Death Dismembered Body Found in Hegewisch, IL Garage

A dismembered body was found in a garage in a city south of Chicago on Sunday. The Fowler Police Department confirmed with News 18 on Monday they are working with Chicago police in the case. Authorities believe the body may be the missing ex-husband of the Fowler woman who died last week.

Chicago police detectives are investigating this mysterious death in Hegewisch, Illinois. Our CBS affiliate in Chicago reports, police are trying to figure out who the victim is and how the body got there.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Investigators arrived at the scene Sunday after neighbors smelled a foul odor coming from the garage and alley. One source told CBS 2, the victim’s body had been dismembered and wrapped in plastic.

Police believe, but cannot confirm just yet, that the body found is 41-year-old Milan Lekich who was last seen in March 2013. On Thursday, Chicago police issued a missing person report for Lekich, whose last known address was on the same block where the body was found.

However, authorities can confirm that the garage where the body was found was owned by Lekich. Additionally, Fowler police have confirmed that Lekich was married, at one time, to 49-year-old Teresa Jarding who passed away last week in Fowler.

Investigators believe this case is related to the disappearance of Teresa’s mother, Nena Metoyer, who is still missing. Metoyer, whose home is in Tampa, Florida, was visiting Jarding in Fowler at the time of Jarding’s death. Metoyer was not at the home when police arrived Sept. 24, but her vehicle and belongings were still in the residence.

Wrongful Death Body Found in Blue Springs, MO Hotel

Police are investigating after a body was discovered inside a Blue Springs hotel room.

Shortly after 7:30 Saturday morning, members of the Blue Springs Police Department were dispatched to the Days Inn, located at 451 NW Jefferson Street, in response to a call regarding “shots fired.”

Once police arrived, they located an individual, who died from an apparent gunshot injury, inside one of the rooms.  The hotel was placed on a lock down for citizen safety while Blue Springs Police searched for the suspect in the area.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Christy Hallock, a guest at the hotel, said she dialed 911.

“A guy comes running down the stairs putting his clothes on saying someone shot in his room,” Hallock said. “He was freaking out.”

Hallock said she was eating breakfast in the hotel dining area when the man came running down the stairs. Then, she and seven others, including some children, hid inside a pantry.

A short time later, officers encountered an individual in the parking lot of the Rancho Grande Cantina restaurant, located at 501 NW Jefferson Street, who was armed with a firearm and threatening suicide.  Several minutes later, a Blue Springs Hostage Negotiator convinced the individual to unarm himself. The man was then taken into police custody.

“He looked a little bit crazy, he was freaking out,” Hallock said. “We were all hiding in the pantry area, he was standing right next to me and then when we all came out he got arrested.”

Sergeant Joe Fanara with the Blue Springs Police Department said it is unknown if the two men were from the area or just passing through.

“The incident was taken under control and the subject did comply with all commands,” Fanara said.

Police also tell FOX 4 it is unknown at this time if the two men knew each other. Police are not yet releasing the name of the victim but say it’s a man in his mid-20s.

The Blue Springs Police Department Special Victims Unit is currently investigating the incident. Charges are pending.

Missing Person Megadeth’s Lead Singer’s Mother in Law

Megadeth’s lead singer Dave Mustaine on Friday urged the public to continue to search for his missing mother-in-law, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and wandered away from her Julian campsite a week ago.

“We need your help,” Mustaine pleaded alongside his wife at a news conference at the Sheriff’s Department headquarters.

The search for Sally Estabrook, 75, has continued in the areas surrounding Pinezanita RV Park & Campgrounds, where she was last seen Saturday afternoon while camping with friends. She disappeared while her husband was taking a shower, authorities said. She was wearing a white top, teal capri pants and tennis shoes.

Mustaine urged residents in surrounding areas to check under bushes and in sheds and garages around their properties. She could also be along freeway ramps, in fast food restaurants, hospitals or shelters, or could be traveling around with homeless people, her daughter, Pam Mustaine, said.

“She may look like a homeless person at this point,” she said.

Estabrook, who lives in Fallbrook and has suffered from Alzheimer’s for several years, is verbal but non-communicative.

A major part of the search has centered about a mile south of the campground, where a motorcyclist reported possibly seeing her on state Route 79 near Sunrise Highway. The area is full of thick brush, ravines and steep hillsides.

A coffee pot from their camp is missing, and she may have carried it off looking for water.

Hundreds of volunteers have aided in the search this week, along with authorities from Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties, the Red Cross and the U.S. Forest Service. Helicopters were searching a 60-square-mile area.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
