Wrongful Death Woman Freed After Serving 6 Years In Murder

A woman who served six years for a crime she says she didn’t commit is now free thanks to the Innocence Project.

Susan King was in prison for the 1998 death of Kyle Deenie Breeden of Shelbyville.

The Kentucky Innocence Project told the court when the state police case went cold, a state trooper picked it up and 18 days later named King as the killer. He said she threw Breeden’s body into the Kentucky River after a domestic dispute.

In 2012, a Louisville police detective contacted the Innocence Project after Richard Jarrell confessed to the crime. According to a motion filed in court, a KSP detective tried to coerce Jarrell into taking back the confession.

“Unbelievable, because I’ve been let down so many times and treated so wrongly that it’s hard to believe to finally, maybe, the right thing has been done,” King said.

The Kentucky Innocence Project plans to push the case forward. The man who confessed to the crime still hasn’t been charged.

He was arrested last week and remains in the Powell County jail.

While Wethington currently lives in Lexington, he previously served as a youth minister at Stanton Christian Church, according to the director of Teen Mission, USA, a group out of Lexington where Wethington served as a board member.

Director Greg Herriford called Wethington a “good board member who showed no signs of anything like this” referring to the rape charges.

As a volunteer with Teen Mission, Wethington lead several mission trips.

Herriford says Wethington also served at a church in Harrison County before serving in Stanton. No one with Stanton Christian Church was available to comment on the rape allegations.

Wethington declined a request for an interview.

Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a man found unresponsive in his driveway Thursday afternoon.

Police say a friend came by the home of 82-year-old Lloyd Souders on Lafayette Drive around 2 p.m. and found him dead in a ditch by the driveway.

State police say foul play is suspected.

The coroner said the man lived alone at the home and believes he had been lying in the driveway for hours.

“My husband called me and told me he had heard that he got beat up pretty bad and it killed him,” Ann Henderson, a friend of the victim said. “I don’t know why anyone would want to do this to the man, but he was real good. He was kind hearted.”

An autopsy is expected to be performed Friday.

Missing Person Reward For Woman Last Seen in Plano, TX Increased to $10k

The reward for information about a Fort Worth woman missing for more than a month has been increased to $10,000, Plano Police officials announced Thursday.

Christina Marie Morris, 23, was last seen at the start of the Labor Day weekend. Video surveillance shows Morris and a friend walking into a parking garage just before 4 a.m. Aug. 30 at 5717 Legacy Drive in The Shops at Legacy. Morris was reported missing four days later. Police found her car still in the parking garage. She had not shown up for work and had had no contact with friends or family after that video was taken.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Her case is classified as a missing person investigation. The reward is for information that leads to the arrest and indictment in Morris’ disappearance “if it is determined that a crime has been committed,” police say.

An anonymous donor provided the additional reward money to the North Texas Crime Commission, which coordinates the Crime Stoppers program.

Anyone with information about Morris’ whereabouts should contact the Plano Police Department at 972-424-5678.
