Private Detective: Clark County Man Pleads Not Guilty in Robbery

A Clark County man accused of robbing a gas station pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday.

The bond remains at $50,000 for Curtis Wilkerson because of the violent charge, even though he says he did nothing wrong.

Clark County Judge Earl Neal entered a not guilty plea for Wilkerson who, according to police, was the lookout guy while his friend tried to rob the 96 Truck Stop.

Wilkerson told LEX 18 that Davon Marshall put a gun to his head and he didn’t know why his so-called friend would do such a thing. Meanwhile, police say Wilkerson’s partner-in-crime was shot by the store owner. He was later found in a nearby field.

Wilkerson, according to police, was held down by people in the store until help arrived. Turns out that wasn’t his first offense. Officers say the duo robbed a taxi driver at gunpoint in Winchester earlier this week.

Wilkerson maintains his innocence.

“I shouldn’t be in jail, I didn’t do nothing,” he said. “I didn’t harm nobody. I didn’t set nobody up. Actually I tried to help the people.”

Wilkerson is scheduled to be back in court next month.

Private Detective: Two Accused of Stealing Thousands From Elderly Woman

Two Franklin County women face felony charges after police say they stole from a woman they were hired to care for.

Sheriff Pat Melton says Cathy Stewart and Tonya Ward were hired to come to an elderly woman’s home and provide care. Instead, he says they ended up stealing more than $12,000 in checks, jewelry and other household items.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“This is someone that this individual trusted to take care of her and her daughter, and it’s a sad sad story,” Sheriff Melton said.

The victims lived in the Bentwoods subdivision in Frankfort and the stealing had been going on for months before the two were caught.

Sheriff Melton says a traffic stop sparked the investigation. The two women actually got pulled over in Lexington and that’s when police found the stolen checks that belonged to the victim.

When the sheriff’s department told the victim what they found, she realized everything else was gone.

“Keep track. Keep track of your items, keep track of your stuff,” said Sheriff Melton. “If you know something is missing and you have only had these caretakers in or out, that’s probably a clue. Once you find something, there is probably more. Keep close reigns on your checking account.”

Sheriff Melton says they were able to return almost $6,000 worth of items to the victim.

Stewart and Ward have not yet been arrested
