Missing Person Christina Morris of Plano, TX Still Missing

Crime Stoppers is offering an award for information regarding a Fort Worth woman who went missing almost three weeks ago in Plano.

Christina Marie Morris, 23, was last seen at 3:55 a.m. Aug. 30 walking with a friend in a parking garage in the 5700 block of Legacy Drive. Family and friends became worried when they didn’t hear from her and she missed work, police said.

Morris’ family filed a missing person report Sept. 2. Since then, Plano police have received assistance from Texas EquuSearch, a Houston-based search-and-rescue group that gained approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to use drones in the search for Morris. The group suspended its search on Monday due to lack of leads.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Morris, they are encouraged to call 1-877-373-TIPS or submit a tip online at ntcc.crimestoppersweb.com. Crime Stoppers did not say how much reward would be offered for a tip leading to a felony arrest and indictment.

Pedophile Tracking Trucker Arrested in FL, Police Seek Other Possible Victims

A truck driver suspected of abusing several children was arrested in Florida and brought back to Oregon to face charges.

Little John Patrick Marcus, 40, was apprehended in July after the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office issued warrants for his arrest.

Marcus faces 19 charges, including encouraging child sex abuse, use of a child in a sex display, online sexual corruption of a minor, luring a minor and failing to register as a sex offender.

Police are worried there may be more victims in the Portland metro area and possibly around the state because Marcus drove trucks for a living. They are asking the public for more information about Marcus.

Milwaukie police began investigating Marcus in November 2013, police spokesman Greg Elkins said. They have so far identified several victims, but did not release their locations.

Marcus is being held at the Clackamas County Jail on $500,000 bail.

Anyone who has information about Marcus or any other possible victims is asked to call Milwaukie police at 503-786-7500.

Pedophile Tracking Bradenton, FL Man Charged With Traveling To Have Sex With Children

A Bradenton man was arrested Thursday on charges of traveling to have sex with two children, according to federal prosecutors.

William Daniel Thompson, 67, had his initial appearance in federal court Friday and is being detained pending trial.

According to a release from U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley, III, Thompson faces a minimum of 10 years up to a maximum of life in federal prison if convicted of attempting to persuade, induce and entice a minor to engage in illegal sexual conduct.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

An FBI special agent last Wednesday noticed an advertisement in Craigslist’s “all personals” section mentioning a single white male seeking a “family dynamic,” according to a criminal complaint.

For the next day, officials said Thompson emailed the undercover agent and indicated he wanted to have sex with agent’s supposed children, ages 10 and 13.

On Thursday, Thompson traveled to Altamonte Springs in Seminole County to meet the minors’ father for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct, according to a release. That’s when he was arrested.

Thompson admitted to law enforcement officers he had traveled there to meet with the father of the two children with whom he had been emailing, according to the release.

“Thompson stated that his purpose in going to Altamonte Springs was to explore the possibility of having sex with a 10-year-old girl,” according to the release. “The investigation revealed Thompson has been involved in the bondage, dominance, sadomasochistic lifestyle for about 10 years.”

The case was investigated by the FBI and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ilianys Rivera Miranda.

According to the release, the case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The initiative is led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section. Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to prosecute those who sexually exploit children and rescue victims.

Pedophile Tracking Twin Brothers Out on Bond

There has been a major development in the child pornography investigation involving two elderly twin brothers who once served as Boy Scout leaders.

They’re now out of jail.

The Cassidy brothers have bonded out of jail and one of their alleged scout victims believes that’s a crime itself.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

The two have been lying low for almost two weeks at their Mason Headley home. They have not responded to requests for interviews with LEX 18. Their release has been unsettling news for one of their victims, who wished to remain anonymous.

“They need to be in jail the rest of their lives. That’s all there is to it,” says the victim.

He says Jerry Cassidy allegedly sexually abused him on a Boy Scout camping trip in the 1960s.

“It was back when I was 8 or 9 years old,” he says.

The victim came forward after the Cassidys’ arrest last month when police raided their home and charged them with child porn. Investigators say they found hundreds of images of damning evidence and journals, including photos of young boys tied up, naked and kissing each other.

“They don’t need to be out on the street, they’re going to hurt somebody else. They’ve hid behind the church for too long,” says the victim.

Lexington police say the brothers could face additional charges very soon.

Fraud Investigation Jury Duty Scam in Franklin County

A familiar jury duty scam is targeting Franklin County residents.

According to Sheriff Pat Melton, a man has been calling people in the area and identifying himself as Lt. Paul Gamble with the sheriff’s department and requesting money because the residents have missed jury duty.

The sheriff says his office does not have anyone by that name. He says the scam artist is using a cell phone number out of Louisville.

http://liarcatchers.com/fraud_investigation.html

Apparently, the scammer tells people they have missed jury duty and have to pay a fine of nearly $1,000 or he’ll have them arrested.

The sheriff says if you get a call like this, don’t give the caller anything.

Sheriff Melton says another scam artist targeted a Franklin County resident Thursday about winning a publisher’s clearing house sweepstakes and wanted that person to send them $200 for tax purposes before they delivered the check.

The sheriff says if you think you’re being scammed, save the scam artist’s number and call the sheriff’s department.

Wrongul Death Man Indicted in Brutal Attack Death of Elderly Man

A grand jury has indicted a Lexington man on murder in the beating death of an elderly man.

Cory Etherington was charged in the death of 87-year-old John Tully, who was attacked on July 11 and left outside the Old Farm Apartments with multiple injuries. Tully was found by a neighbor in a breezeway and taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he later died.

Police arrested Etherington a day after Tully’s murder on an unrelated charge. He was later charged with murder but police did not say how they came to the connection.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Back in July, Etherington pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. LEX 18 reached out to Etherington in the Fayette County jail for his side of the story, but jail officials said the murder suspect “has mental health issues that prevent him from being interviewed.”

His ex-wife, Shannon Martin, said she was not surprised to learn he was accused in a brutal killing.

“I want to see him never see the light of day again. The death penalty would be fantastic, but I don’t see that happening because I’m sure he’ll plead insanity,” said Shannon Martin.

In 2013, Etherington was arrested after, police say, he punched his grandmother in the face then charged at officers. Officers say they had to use a Taser on Etherington to get him under control.

Police said then that Etherington is bipolar and hadn’t taken his medication when he attacked his grandmother. She was taken to the hospital and treated for a cut on the head.

Etherington will be arraigned on murder and tampering with physical evidence charges on Sept. 25.

Cold Case Arrest Made in 40 Year Old Louisville Homicide Case

A Louisville detective cracked a cold-case more than 40 years old, and a man now faces charges in the death of his stepson.

A grand jury indicted Lawrence Beck, 65, on a murder charge earlier this week. His 20-month-old stepson, Michael Sanders, died in December 1971.

http://liarcatchers.com/cold_cases.html

The child’s death was ruled a homicide at the time, but there wasn’t enough evidence to make an arrest. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Diane Arnold says a Louisville Metro Police Department detective worked, “to track down many of the witnesses, to find as much new information as she could, and really to get a doctor to look at how the child died and if the injuries were consistent with what the suspect had said.”

Police arrested Beck in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
