Wrongful Death Search Continues For Black BMW Involved in Hit and Run

Lexington police continue their search for a black BMW believed to have been involved in a fatal accident that took the life of 39-year-old woman last month.

On Friday, family and friends of Mary Anne Reynolds-Drury were quite visible at Lexington’s Fourth Of July parade riding their motorcycles through downtown hoping that visibility will help the case.

“I’m hoping someone is ridden with guilt and come forward,” said Adrienne Mason, who was a friend of the victim.

The details of what took the life of the Lexington woman in an accident on Leestown Road can only be answered by two people and police are still looking for one of them.

Mary Anne was heading home on Leestown after a late evening ride on her motorcycle when, according to police, a black BMW pulled out in front of her. She and the motorcycle hit the rear of the car, sending her into oncoming traffic.

The number of motorcyclists killed every year in Kentucky is staggering, according to numbers dug up by LEX 18 Investigates. Since 2005 more than 800 riders have lost their lives, an increasing number of those crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, are the result of distracted drivers.

Numbers do little to comfort Mary Anne’s family and friends, though.

“Seeing the picture, there is both beautiful and it s kind of heart crushing too,” said her father, Rick Reynolds.

Seeing his daughter’s picture is almost more than Reynolds can bare.

“Maryanne was very much involved in animal rights and animal rescue,” he said.

And she was more than an avid motorcyclist, she was a true rider, active enough in a ladies motorcycle club to earn the nickname “Chaos.”

“But it wasn’t her riding that did it, it was someone else being careless,” said Adrienne Mason.

Her friends and family are hoping that anyone with information about this accident will call the Lexington Police.

Mary Anne Reynolds-Drury’s family and friends are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for the crash.

Pedophile Tracking Man Faked Death To Avoid Blackmail

A St. Charles man has been sentenced to four years in prison after faking his death to avoid being blackmailed in a child sexual abuse case.

Forty-six-year-old Raymond Avett pleaded guilty Monday to concealing a felony.

Prosecutors say Avett was blackmailed by his girlfriend, Jennifer L. Callaway, so she would not report the alleged sexual abuse of a 6-year-old girl. Police say Avett gave Callaway his home, vehicle, boat and life insurance.

Avett disappeared in June 2013, after leaving suicide notes. He was later found in Maryland.

KMOV reports that Callaway was sentenced to five years’ probation in January for concealing a felony.

St. Charles County Prosecutor Tim Lohmar says Callaway’s blackmail prevented his office from properly investigating the alleged sexual abuse case.

Pedophile Tracking Fish and Wildlife Scientist Arrested On Child Sex Charges at Auburn Park

A scientist with the Department of Fish and Wildlife has been arrested on child sex charges.

Placer County Sheriff’s deputies say Tim Nosal tried arranging a meeting with a 13-year-old girl for sex.

Outside his Fair Oaks home, visiting family members were apparently unaware of his arrest.

They left as quickly as they came.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Nosal is a family man; neighbors say he’s married with kids. The 48-year-old works as an environmental scientist with the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

On his lunch break on Tuesday, deputies say he drove from his state job in Rancho Cordova to an Auburn park where he thought he was meeting a 13-year-old girl for sex.

When he arrived, there was no girl, just detectives who said he’d been talking to the sheriff’s department the entire time.

Detectives say they responded to an online ad Nosal posted, and talked to him for several weeks posing as that 13-year-old girl.

“This is a really nice quiet neighborhood; we’ve been here over 10 years,” said neighbor Elena Hudson. “I’m really shocked — it’s really disappointing. It’s really scary, actually.”

The Department of Fish and Wildlife confirm he’s an employee, but wouldn’t comment any further.

Nosal was taken to Placer County Jail on charges carrying $100,000 bail.

Private Investigator, Woman Pleads Guilty to Stealing Social Security Benefits Issued to Dead Father

A Texas woman accused of stealing her father’s social security benefits while his remains were kept in a Lexington storage unit for more than 20 years pleaded guilty in court Thursday.

49-year-old Judith Maria Broughton faces up to ten years in prison after she pleaded guilty to stealing social security benefits payable to her dead father, Luther D. Broughton, who officialas say died in 1990.

Officials say Broughton admitted she kept her father’s retirement benefits from June 1990 until August 2011 – a total of $245,226.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

During the plea hearing, Broughton said her father died on or about June 5, 1990, and after his death, she leased a storage unit in his name at Econo Self Storage in Lexington, where his remains were found on Jan. 8, 2014.

Broughton continued to make monthly payments on the storage unit in her father’s name from June 1990 through March 2014.

Broughton also acknowledged, according to officials, that she obtained a joint checking account in her father’s name and had his social security benefits electronically deposited into the account.

When social security officials sought written verification that Broughton’s father was still living, she responded with false statements that he was still alive. Broughton admitted that by taking the monthly payments intended for her father, she stole money from the United States and converted those funds to her own use.

Prior to her arrest, Broughton had been living with her mother, Mary Elizabeth Broughton, in Brewster County, Texas. Mary Elizabeth Broughton has been missing since January. In June, officials went to the home where mother and daughter lived searching for clues as to where Mary Elizabeth could be.

Crews used cadaver dogs looking for the 80-year-old mother but the search turned up nothing.

Mary Elizabeth Broughton also was a beneficiary of social security payments and those benefits were deposited in a joint account with her daughter through the Fort Davis State Bank, officials said.

“We’re very suspicious of her disappearance. Not that she, you know, was hurt or harmed, but maybe her body was disposed of,” said Brewster County Sheriff Ronnie Dodson.

No sentencing date has been scheduled.
