Accident Reconstruction Father Pleads For Info About Fatal Accident

A father pleads for information in a crash that killed his daughter.

Mary Anne Reynolds-Drury died when police say two cars and her motorcycle collided on Leestown Road on May 31.

The dedicated wife and loving mother was taken too soon from her young son when she crashed her motorcycle less than a month before her son’s second birthday.

“If he mimics her in most of her life or all of her life, he’ll be a fine man,” said Rick Reynolds, Mary Anne’s father.

http://liarcatchers.com/accident_reconstruction.html

Shortly after midnight on May 31, police say Reynolds-Drury was out for a ride on her motorcycle when she hit the back of a BMW. Police say she then lost control of her bike and was hit when she crossed in front of an oncoming Humvee. While the driver of the Humvee stopped, the driver of the BMW did not.

“They ran away. The whole thing is terrible but that particular part hurts a great deal,” said Rick.

Lexington police are now looking for the driver who fled before police arrived. The car is described as a dark colored 1990’s model BMW. Investigators say the car lost its back bumper in the crash.

While the driver coming forward won’t fill the hole left by his daughter death, Rick hopes it will help begin the healing process.

“We can’t bring her back, but if we can reconstruct this and have a better understanding of what happened, it would make a huge difference for us emotionally and mentally,” he said.

Anyone with information about this vehicle, or this incident is asked to call the Lexington Police Traffic Section at 859-258-3666.

Cold Case 2011 Hit and Run That Killed Man in Lexington

Detectives have never been able to identify the driver who hit and killed Lance Newby in a north Lexington neighborhood in 2011.

But now, they’re hoping a reward makes someone come forward with the information they’ve kept to themselves the last three years.

“He was here with me every day,” Newby’s mother Jennifer Stigall said. “My yard would be cut if he was here. It’s hard, it’s real hard.”

Stigall can’t rest as her mind still wanders back to that morning when she held her dying son in her arms on Winburn Drive.

http://liarcatchers.com/cold_cases.html

Newby had walked up to catch a bus. He was supposed to be right back but he was hit by an SUV that drove up on the curb then took off.

“To me, this was done on purpose. It was no accident,” Stigall said. “If it was an accident, they would’ve stopped.”

Police are doing something they’ve never done with this case before.

“We’ve already made pleas to the public years ago when this first happened and now, we’re trying to revisit the case,” Lexington Police Department Detective Jason Rothermund said. “It’s a cold case at this point.”

Thanks to Crime Stoppers, they’re able to offer a $1,000 to the person who calls them with a name of the person driving the SUV that November morning.

“Just please come forward,” Stigall said. “You don’t have to tell your name or nothing else. Just help us find out the person who killed my son.”

If you have any idea who was driving the dark colored SUV that hit Newby in November 2011, call the Crime Stoppers tipline at (859) 253-2020. You don’t have to leave your name, just your information relating to the case.

Missing Person Fundraiser To Add To Reward Fund One Year After Teen Went Missing

360 days. That’s how long Brookelyn Farthing has been missing. Yet, her family isn’t any closer to knowing exactly what happened to the Madison County teen.

“It’s been the worst year of our lives,” said the teen’s stepfather, Randall Walker.

What Farthing’s family does know is that Brookelyn was at a friend’s house in Madison County last June when she went missing. That friend told police he left her at his home and when he came back, his house was on fire and Brookelyn was no where to be found.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“Right now, we have a hole in our family and that hole is Brookelyn,” Walker said.

Sunday will mark exactly one year since her disappearance, and Brookelyn’s family will host a community fundraiser at the Madison County Fairgrounds featuring inflatables, tattoos for kids, live music and a silent auction. There will also be a car show and several raffles, including a car being raffled off.

The money raised will go directly into the reward fund for Farthing.

“Right now, it stands at $5,000 and me personally not talking with the family, I would love to see this triple after this benefit,” Walker said.

They hope the reward will become large enough that someone with information will come forward.

“We’re not going to stop until we know what has happened to Brooke,” Walker said.
