Arson Investigation Fire Destroys Home in Wayne County

A Wayne County home was destroyed after a fire Sunday night and the homeowner said it has been in his family since the 1950s.

Junior Jones no longer lives in the home himself, but rents it out.

He said someone was supposed to be moving in to it Monday, but that isn’t happening due to the fire from 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

“It’s a sad deal,” one neighbor said. “It’s his home place and you know he’s about a good of a person as you will ever run across and is just sad to see something like this come down to this.”

http://liarcatchers.com/arson_investigation.html

Neighbors on Greenbriar Loop didn’t want to be on camera or have their names known because they said they are a little scared that this might be connected with vandalism that has taken place in the area over the last few days in fear of being targeted.

A neighbor mentioned that someone busted windows out of a church house, busted doors and windows at a tombstone rock business and a building across Highway 90.

At this time, nobody knows for sure if any of these events are connected or how the fire started.

Arson Investigators will be on site Tuesday to inspect.

Private Detective Bomb Threat Reported at Lexington Store

A bomb threat at a Lexington clothing store evacuated two businesses as crews searched the area.

Men’s Wearhouse on Nicholasville Road and the Sprint store next door were evacuated shortly after noon Monday after reports of a bomb threat at the clothing store.

About a dozen or more employees waited outside for about an hour as dogs searched the area. Nothing was found and the stores were deemed safe. All the cars in the parking lot were determined to belong to the employees, officials said.

“There is no report of anyone suspicious in the area prior to this. It was just a random phone call,” said Lt. Mark Brand.

A manager at Men’s Wearhouse said the store had been broken into Sunday night and that cash was taken. Officials say so far, they don’t know of any connection between the cases.
