Private Detective, Two Arrested in Drug Bust in Madison County

Two people were arrested in what Berea police are calling one of their biggest heroin busts in a while.

Officers arrested 27-year-old Catherine Leake of Bardstown and 38-year-old Neal “Mike” Stone of Richmond, who they say lived in the Brockton Apartments on Eastern Kentucky University’s campus.

Berea Police say the two were busted after Leake and Stone sold heroin to a Berea PD source. Inside their apartment, police found 79 grams of heroin, digital scales and $520 in cash.

Police say while she was being booked in, Leake tried to hide a small rock of heroin in her hand.

Both are charged with trafficking a controlled substance first degree. Stone was also charged with drug paraphernalia possession. Leake was also charged with possession of controlled substance first degree and tampering with physical evidence.

They both bonded out of jail soon after their arrest.

The Berea Police Department was assisted by the Richmond Police Department, EKU Police and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Wrongful Death Body Found in Renton, WA

Police are investigating a homicide after a body was found Sunday morning in Renton.

Police responded at about 8 a.m. after passersby called about a man unconscious in a doorway and bleeding in the 2800 block of Northeast Sunset Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they found a 52-year-old homeless man lying in an alcove at the back of a closed business. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and had obvious blunt force injuries to the head.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

“He was injured around the head. There’s a substantial amount of blood,” said Det. Robert Onishi of the Renton Police Department.

A blunt weapon was found near the scene, which Onishi said was likely used in this murder.

Onishi added, “Other homeless people around here talked about another male who might be belligerent, who was camping in the area here.”

Police found him nearby and in talking to him, found that he was connected to the incident.

The suspect was arrested and brought to the police station for questioning.

An employee at the Circle K gas station nearby said that suspect had just been at the store at 6:30 a.m. to buy a beer.

“He came in, he bought the beer with me, and left. I don’t know after that,” said Durga Doksrel.

Doksrel said his boss later spoke with police and shared the store surveillance video to identify the suspect.

Doksrel said the man frequently came to buy beer, as many of the homeless people do. But among all the homeless customers, Doksrel said the suspect was always quiet and polite.

“I was just surprised you know. Because you were a normal customer, now it’s criminal,” he said.

Renton police are not looking for outstanding suspects and the investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to call Renton police.

Missing Person Greensboro Teacher

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and K-9s searched a missing teacher’s apartment Friday hoping it will lead to answers, but those appear to be in short supply.

CMPD isn’t saying anything publicly Friday about Bianca Tanner’s missing person case after delving into it Thursday, when they called it a homicide.

Relatives remain hopeful something good will happen, but it’s been six days since anyone has seen or heard from Tanner.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Investigators went back to Tanner’s apartment on Druid Circle Friday morning. She recently moved in with her boyfriend but was still a teacher at Reedy Fork Elementary School in Greensboro.

Neighbors say police and K-9’s scoured the backyard and woods behind the house just like they did Thursday, but it doesn’t appear they found anything.

“They were back there watching the house and stuff,” said neighbor Jackie Harrison.

Tanner’s boyfriend reported her missing Sunday after the couple argued, police say.

Harrison says she didn’t hear the fight or see Tanner leave.

“We don’t have a lot of trouble over here, so I feel safe personally, but I’m leery about someone going missing.”

A different neighbor says the argument was loud and over quickly. That neighbor didn’t see Tanner either.

Now, Tanner’s picture is on a missing person flyer. Relatives handed it out to neighbors. It’s also in local store windows. The hope is someone knows or saw something.

Police say there’s been no activity on Tanner’s cell phone or bank accounts.

The case is considered a homicide and gives cops more resources to try to figure out what happened.

At last check there are no named suspects and no arrests, but a handful of inconsistencies from people considered “persons of interest.”

“I say in particular some of those we have interviewed, they have not been forthright with us,” said CMPD Police Chief Rodney Monroe.

One person who says he often saw Tanner is Ramon Berry, who runs a car wash about a block away. He says Tanner would often go for evening walks right past him.

“It makes me think who is next or what happened and I would like for them to get to the bottom of it,” Berry said.

Police say Tanner recently moved to Charlotte and got a teaching position with CMS and Project L.I.F.T.

Missing Person Reward for Hillsborough County, FL Teen

Hillsborough County, Florida – A father is making an emotional plea on this holiday weekend. His 16-year-old daughter has been missing since Wednesday and he is asking for the public’s help in finding her.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to finding Ashley Lyon.

Ashley’s family spent the evening passing out flyers at businesses near their home in Valrico. They also passed fliers out near a gas station in Plant City, where 41-year-old Steven Myers, a two-time sex offender, lives. Ashley’s family believes she is with Meyers.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Ashley’s family is working around the clock, hoping that somebody may have seen her or the man they believe she may be with.

“I can’t even express the anger when I look at his picture,” said Michelle Lyon, Ashley’s mom.

Authorities say Meyers’ phone records show he texted Ashley dozens of time before she disappeared.

“This is just really pulling at my heartstrings,” said Roger Lyon.

At New York’s Time Square Pizza in Bloomingdale, they’re posted her picture on every pizza box they deliver.

“I try not to cry, because crying won’t get her back. I feel sick, like part of me is missing,” said Lyon.

Ashley’s family hopes somebody will see it, recognize her, and she’ll be returned, so this father won’t have to spend Father’s Day with out his little girl.

Although nobody has seen Ashley yet, many people here at the Plant City gas station admit they have seen Steven, even the clerk said they saw him just yesterday.

The Lyon family hope this new information puts them one step closer to finding their daughter.

Ashley was last seen wearing a black tank top, black gym shorts, and black “Vans” shoes. She may be in a 1989 Ford Ranger pick up truck with flames painted on the front and sides. The pick up should have a Florida Tag CSJ-M45.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Ashley Lyon is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS.

Pedophile Tracking Sedgwick County, KS Man Charged

A 21-year-old man was charged this week with one count of aggravated indecent liberties for allegedly molesting a 6-year-old child, according to a complaint filed in Sedgwick County District Court. The crime is a Jessica’s Law offense.

Tyler A. Phillips is accused of engaging in lewd fondling or touching of the child on or about June 8 and June 9, court records show. He made his first appearance in court on the charge Thursday and was ordered to return for a preliminary hearing June 26.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Phillips was booked into Sedgwick County Jail after Wichita police received a report of inappropriate touching involving an adult and a child around 5 a.m. June 9, according to a police report. He remained in custody Saturday on $100,000 bond in the sex crimes case, online jail records show.

In addition to that amount, Phillips is being held on $377,500 in bonds in other cases, records show. He listed Valley Center as his town of residence on an application for a court-appointed lawyer that was filed with the court.

Missing Person Tonya Jackson of Ypsilanti Twp., MI

A note penned on toilet paper and left in an Ohio restaurant bathroom is the only sign family members have seen of a Ypsilanti Township woman reported missing six weeks ago.

Tonya Jackson, 42, was last seen May 3 near Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus. She was driving a 2007 Saab SUV.

On May 19, the note was found at a Steak ’n Shake in Englewood, Ohio, off I-70 a few miles west of I-75.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“A lot of transient traffic comes through the city,” said Sgt. Mike Lang of the Englewood police. He said it’s possible they were passing through, but it’s also possible it was a prank or any number of possibilities; there was no video surveillance and no other signs were left in the area.

For Tonya Jackson’s husband, L.V. Jackson, and their five kids, it has been “too long without any answers,” he said.

There’s been no activity on her bank account or cell phone. The Jacksons have been married two years and together 11, and their children range in age from 4 to 24, he said.

“Some days, they wake up asking about their mom; some days they don’t,” Jackson said. “I just try to keep it positive.”

He said that when she left the house at 3 p.m. May 3, she told him she was going out for drinks with a friend.

“She gave me a kiss good-bye and said, ‘I’ll see you in a couple hours,’ ” Jackson said. “To my surprise, lo and behold, she wasn’t going to meet a friend.”

Three days later, the friend confessed that she’d been covering for an affair between Tonya Jackson and a man she knew from work, her husband said. The man has “been very cooperative” with police and said he gave her $7 before they parted ways at about 7:30 p.m. May 3, Jackson said.

A spokesman with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office didn’t respond to requests for interviews but e-mailed a missing-person report on Tonya Jackson. Lang said the note on toilet paper was asking for help and mentioned a red Chevrolet Cavalier and a man named John Samuels.

Jackson said he has no clue who John Samuels could be. But he believes the note was written by his wife in haste.

Meanwhile, the family is struggling to make ends meet. Jackson said his wife was the family breadwinner, doing housekeeping at a local forensics center.

The unemployed father said he sold TVs and cameras to keep afloat.

“I got kids I got to take care of,” he said. “I can’t fall apart.”

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information on the case call the tip line at 734-973-7711. The Saab that Tonya Jackson was driving had Michigan license plate CCL 7888.

Tonya Jackson, 42, of Ypsilanti Township has been missing since May 3. A note left in an Ohio restaurant bathroom is the only sign family members have seen of her since then.

Pedophile Tracking Wyoming County, PA Man Faces 18-44 Years

A Wyoming County man faces 18-44 years in state prison after being sentenced Wednesday morning to rape of a child and other sex offenses.

Joshua M. Raymond, 29, of Laceyville, made no comment as he appeared before Wyoming County President Judge Russell Shurtleff, but his attorney, Deborah Albert-Heise, did.

She acknowledged her client had issues that needed to be addressed, and because he had been in jail since September of 2012, “he’s had plenty of time to think about his actions.”

But, she also acknowledged that he had a zero prior record, and asked the court to consider running whatever sentences were imposed on the four charges facing him concurrently.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

District attorney Jeff Mitchell objected, noting that Raymond violated the child while her mother was working and trusting that he could provide care.

“His actions are reprehensible; they occurred on separate dates, and I’m asking for consecutive sentences,” Mitchell said.

On the charge of rape, Mr. Raymond was sentenced to 10-20 years in state prison with lifetime registration as a sexual offender under the Adam Walsh act.

For aggravated indecent assault he faces five to 10 years; and for each of two counts of indecent assault, he faces 18months to seven years.

Mr. Raymond had been sentenced a year earlier to 20-40 years in prison on similar charges, but that was withdrawn after Ms. Albert-Heise appealed the matter on a technicality and gave all indications the case would go to trial, until this past February when the alleged victim made it clear she was prepared to take the witness stand.
