Pedophile Tracking Man Accused in Gaston County, NC

Police in Gaston County are warning there could be more victims of a suspected pedophile after he was arrested on child sex charges.

Investigators said earlier this month, someone provided them with a hard drive belonging to Allen Sinclair Jr.

On the hard drive, authorities said they discovered multiple pictures of Sinclair with a 4-year-old girl in her underwear.

“We were able to make the distinction that it was Mr. Sinclair due to some distinctive tattoos that he had,” Sgt. Scott Bates said.

Police said Sinclair took the photos while he was staying with the victim’s family in Lowell.

Investigators said Sinclair, who is homeless, was taken in by the family and may have taken the photos while he was babysitting the girl when her parents went out on a date night.

“It’s heartbreaking, disturbing, very disturbing to see pictures like this,” Bates said.

Bates said police are investigating the possibility of other victims due to Sinclair’s transient lifestyle.

“The places that he has stayed and lived, there have been children present at those locations,” Bates said.

Sinclair has a criminal record but no prior sex charges. Friday in court he begged the judge to reduce his bond so he could get out of jail.

“It would be greatly appreciated, $1 million – I mean, look at the world we live in. I can’t make a $1 million bond,” Sinclair said.

The judge denied the request. Sinclair’s next court appearance is June 12.

Pedophile Tracking Brattleboro, VT Man Pleads Not Guilty

A Brattleboro man is denying accusations that he sexually assaulted a 4-year-old girl.

Sean Stoltz, 25, was ordered to have no contact with anyone under 16 and to remain inside his Mountain Home Trailer Park residence after pleading not guilty on Friday to three felony charges including sexual exploitation of a child.

Though a prosecutor asked that Stoltz be held without bail, defense attorney Joanne Baltz successfully argued that her client should be released pending further court action.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

“He doesn’t have a (criminal) record anywhere,” Baltz said in Windham Superior Court Criminal Division. “He has significant ties here. He can abide by conditions, including the no-contact conditions.”

Brattleboro police Detective Jonathan Griffus said the state Department for Children and Families received a report of suspected sexual abuse of a child on May 23.

During a May 29 interview at Safe Place Child Advocacy Center, the victim told authorities that she had seen Stoltz’s genitals and also said he had touched her inappropriately, according to a police affidavit.

On one occasion, the victim said, Stolz asked her to perform oral sex on him. The girl said she escaped and “locked herself in her room,” court documents say.

The documents do not give specific dates for the alleged incidents. But during the interview, the girl told police that the last such incident had happened earlier that same day.

Stolz was arrested Thursday evening at his home.

In an affidavit filed Friday, police say the victim also reported that she had been abused by another man. However, no other person has been charged in the case at this point.

At Stoltz’s arraignment, Windham County Deputy State’s Attorney David Gartenstein said the suspect should not be released from custody. “I would note that the Supreme Court has previously ruled that sex abuse of a child is classified as a crime of violence,” Gartenstein told Judge David Suntag.

But Baltz noted Stoltz’s lack of a criminal history and pointed to several family members who had come to the courtroom to support him. Those relatives can help Stoltz, who is “disabled with physical issues and health issues,” report to Brattleboro police each day for check-ins, Baltz told the judge.

Suntag acknowledged that it is “unusual for a person charged with this type of offense to be released.” But Suntag said the circumstances of this case allowed for such a move.

“There’s no history whatsoever of involvement with the criminal justice system in any way,” the judge said. “There’s no suggestion there’s much of a flight risk.”

He ordered strict conditions of release. Stoltz cannot have contact with the alleged victim or with any child, and he must stay inside his home 24 hours a day except for court-related appointments and to report daily to police. “If you stray at all — and they’ll be checking — then you’ll be in jail,” Suntag told Stoltz.

The judge warned that even incidental contact with a child is not allowed. If Stoltz leaves his residence and sees a person under 16, “get in the vehicle and go where you’re going, or go back in the house,” he told the defendant.

In addition to the sexual exploitation count, which carries a maximum sentence of five years, Stoltz also is charged with one count of lewd-lascivious conduct with a child (15-year maximum) and lewd-lascivious conduct (five-year maximum).

A 36-year-old Tulsa man was charged Thursday with five counts of child sexual abuse, according to Tulsa County District Court records.

Thomas Daniel Rogers is accused of crimes against a boy who was age 10 to 13 and a girl who was age 10 to 12 between January 2010 and April 2012. Prosecutors say each of the crimes occurred while the children were under Rogers’ care.

Court records allege that the incidents ranged from his masturbating in the presence of the girl to performing oral sex on her to sodomizing the boy. In one instance, Rogers is accused of watching as he made the two children have intercourse with each other.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections records show that Rogers was incarcerated for two years after being convicted in July 2007 of child abuse by injury.

Accident Reconstruction Man Dies in Fiery Crash on Old Richmond Rd.

A Lexington man is dead following a fiery crash. It happened around 6:30 p.m. on Friday on the far Southeastern side of Lexington, on Old Richmond Road near McCalls Mill Road.

While the 29 year old man didn’t make it, witnesses said they tried their best to save his life. “It’s so quick that an accident can happen,” said Jeanne Guess. That’s a hard truth she learned when she pulled up minutes after the crash.

http://liarcatchers.com/accident_reconstruction.html

“It was pretty scary, but you don’t think about that you are just thinking about getting that person out of there,” said Guess.

Police said the man was driving Southbound when he somehow went off the side of the road, hit a tree and then spun his car.

“Theres no skid marks or anything, so I think he either reached for something or just lost control,” said Guess. Whatever the case, drivers said they saw someone in need and jumped into action.

“We could see the fire shooting up out of there, and when they found out there was still somebody in there we of course immediately wanted to try and help and keep that from blowing up,” said Guess.

Witnesses said they ran to their cars and grabbed all they could, even family heirlooms to put out the flames. “We were running up and down the road just getting blankets, jackets, water bottles, anything we had that we could throw on the front of the car,” said Guess.

At the time guess said the man had a bad head injury, still they felt his pulse, but he was stuck. “We knew we couldn’t get to him because the side he was on was where the tree was and there was just no way of getting him out,” said Guess.

Once emergency crews arrived though, it was too late, the man died on scene. “Its upsetting because you know you think about that family that is going to get that call,” said Guess. “Just lots of prayers and friends of families let them know we did everything we could.”

The crash reconstruction unit was on scene for several hours Friday night. Investigators said they are still trying to figure out if there were any contributing factors in this crash.

The cause of the man’s death is listed as multiple blunt force injuries. The name of the victim has not been released yet.

Private Investigator, Madison County Escapee Wanted to Visit Sister’s Grave

A man who escaped from the Madison County Detention Center is back behind bars.

Roger Million turned himself in Friday, but not before explaining why he went on the run.

Million was on the run for a week when the Madison County Jailer got a phone call from a local attorney.

The jailer said Million was at the attorney’s office, with his grandparents, ready to apologize for breaking out.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“He said, ‘I’m sorry for what I’ve done, what I’ve done to you. I’m sorry about that’,” Madison County Jailer Doug Thomas said.

Thomas said he escaped May 23 after lifting up a part of the fence on the jail property.

Million was originally in jail serving time for manufacturing methamphetamine.

“I asked him why and he said he wanted to get out to go see his sister’s grave,” Thomas said. “It may be a true story, but still, you’re not supposed to escape.”

His sister, Lasha Noe died in a house fire four years ago Friday.

Apparently, Million escaped so he could commemorate the anniversary of her death.

What Thomas didn’t know until later was that Million talked to a nurse at the jail, hinting at his reason for escape just before he went on the run.

Thomas said regardless of his reason for the escape, he’s now facing felony charges for it and could spend an additional five years in jail.

He has been charged with escape second degree and criminal mischief third degree.

Fraud Investigation Lightning Protectiong Scam in Rowan County

We had a warning for you from Rowan County Investigators about a group posing as electric employees earlier this week.

It appears the group is at it again. Though this time, they’ve switched up the scam a bit.

They’re not out to protect you from lightning and one couple is beating themselves up after what happened.

“I was dumb,” Thomas Stevens said.

http://liarcatchers.com/fraud_investigation.html

Three men and a woman in a white utility truck were again posing as the electric company Wednesday.

“It went from that to something else and something else, before you know it, they were ready to leave,” Thomas Stevens said.

First they said it would cost $44 then $4,000. They got the price back down to $1,000.

They worked for about 45 minutes, left a bogus receipt and took off making their way straight to the bank to cash the check.

“He seemed like a real friendly person,” Janice Stevens said.

Now the Stevens are just hoping it won’t happen to anyone else.

“We’re Christian people trying to live honest, treat people good, help people when we can,” Thomas said.

If you think you have seen the scammers in your area, you are asked to call the sheriff’s department.
