Missing Person Benefit Planned for Lexington Man

On Thursday, WKYT’S Miranda Combs spoke with Johnson’s girlfriend, who’s the last one to talk to him. She was talking to him on the phone when he got a knock at the door of his North Hanover Drive apartment. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since then.

Lisa Horobin said she’s been dating Johnson for a year. She goes to college out of state, but spend about four months this past summer with him in Lexington. She called us Thursday, saying she and the family are still trying everything they can to keep Alex’s name and face at the front of everyone’s mind. Lisa said their last conversation together was normal, and Alex was excited to head to Bowling Green to see his family for the holiday’s the next day. When Alex got a knock on the door, he said he’d call her back later that night, but he never did.

“I think that is the worst because you have no idea. Everyone’s mind just keeps going and you go through millions of scenarios in your head of what could have happened, where he could be. It’s weird when none of them make sense,” Horobin said.

Lexington Police are not commenting on this case, saying this is a missing person investigation. Horobin says police are doing everything they can to find Alex.

On Thursday night, Mellow Mushroom is holding a benefit to help raise funds to support the search for Johnson. It’s scheduled to last from 7 to 11 p.m.

Local band ‘The Tallboys of Kentucky’ will perform.

An account for donations is being set up. His family put up a billboard in central Kentucky asking for information. They also put up fliers around the area.

A Lexington man is wanted by Cincinnati Police because they said he is a suspect in a double murder.

Police are searching for 29-year-old Brandon Thomas. His last known address was located in Lexington.

Adam Bostic, 31 and Betty Thomas, 28, were found shot to death this morning at a home.

Brandon is no stranger to Lexington Police as he is a “person of interest” in a deadly shooting at the Diva’s Nightclub off Russell Cave Road from November 2013.

Back in 2004, an officer shot Brandon during a fight at another Lexington night club. The officer told investigators he was armed.

Missing Person Remains Found of St Tammany, LA Man From 2010

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain said skeletal remains found in an abandoned house Monday near Bayou Liberty in Slidell are those of a man who was reported missing in January 2010. St. Tammany Parish Coroner Pramod Menon identified the remains Wednesday as John Felton Winston Jr., 47.

The LSU Department of Anthropology is working with the St. Tammany Parish coroner to determine the cause of Winston’s death.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies found the remains Monday inside an abandoned home on West Street and Martin Road. The Sheriff’s Office said the home had been abandoned for some time and that the remains appeared to have been inside the structure for a few years.

Deputies were led to the location while working with probation and parole agents from the state Department of Corrections, the Sheriff’s Office said, but could provide no further information.

In 2010, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office put out a missing person alert for  Winston, 44, of Slidell. They said at the time that Winston disappeared after leaving his girlfriend’s house on Jan. 19, 2010, to go to the grocery store.

He did not return to her house, authorities said, and was last seen on Caroll Road in the Slidell area on March 8, 2010. Authorities said at the time that Winston needed medication for a medical condition.

Strain said in a news release on Wednesday that he looks forward to working with the coroner’s office to “fill in the pieces surrounding Winston’s disappearance and death in hopes of providing his family, who never gave up searching for this man, some sort of closure.”

Missing Person Family and Friends Continue Search For Alex Johnson

Alex Johnson has been missing since Dec. 20 and his family and friends continue to raise awareness and keep his name and picture fresh with the area.

There’s already one billboard with the word “missing” outside of Lexington that was put up a few days ago. The family has also bought five more digital advertisements that will go up in high-traffic areas around Lexington.

The first billboard is located along Highway 27 near the Fayette-Jessamine County line. The first ad went up a few days after the first of the year.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“That’s why this is particular is so concerning because he’d enver miss holidays with his family,” Karen Sahetya, a friend of Johnson, said.
Sahetya describes the 32-year-old Johnson as caring, trusting and one who loves a good intellectual conversation.

“It’s really hard to guess what could have happened. He’s not the kind of guy that has enemies,” she added.

What is known about Johnson’s disappearance is that he was at his apartment on Dec. 20 on the phone with his girlfriend when there was a knock at his door. Johnson told her he’d call her back but never heard back from him.

No piece of information is too small Sahetya said. They believe someone out there knows something which is why the billboard went up to jog the memories of anyone who had driven by the sign.

“There’s lots of hope,” Sahetya said.

Along with the signs, a benefit and fundraiser is scheduled for Thursday night at the Lexington Mellow Mushroom from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
