Pedophile Tracking 3 Arrested in Wake County, NC

Three men were being held at the Wake County Detention Center on Wednesday on child-sex charges that Wake County sheriff’s deputies and police in Holly Springs and Cary brought in unrelated cases.

Tuesday, Holly Springs police charged Oscar Sanchez Lopez, 29, of 1218 Verdoucq Drive with first-degree sex offense against a child, saying that he was involved with a child under 13 on Monday.

Lopez, who was arrested at his home Tuesday night, was being held in lieu of $1.5 million bail for a Wednesday court appearance, and federal immigration officials were looking into his status as an immigrant from Mexico, court papers showed.

In Cary, police arrested Josh Parker Wheeless, 28, of 1212 Wicklow Drive on a count of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, saying in an arrest warrant that he had persuaded a 16-year-old to send him nude digital pictures last weekend.

Wheeless, who was arrested at the Cary police station Tuesday morning, was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail for a court appearance Wednesday.

Monday evening, deputies arrested John Ross Bain, 65, of 1316 Roffler St. in Garner at his home and charged him with two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

An arrest warrant said deputies believed the incidents involved a child under 16 and that offenses occurred between Dec. 1, 2011, and last Sept. 1.

Bain was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail after a court appearance Tuesday.

Drug Dog Sweep 2 Arrested in Sting at Louisville Greyhound Station

Two out-of-state men were arrested Thursday at the Greyhound bus station in Louisville in a drug sting that police said uncovered marijuana, cocaine and pills.

Louisville Metro Police detectives used drug-sniffing dogs to locate the drugs in one man’s pocket and another man’s carry-on luggage.

Nekos Jamon Tatum, 28, of Jackson, Tenn., gave up two small bags of marijuana after a dog zeroed in on his pocket, according to his arrest report. When they searched him, the report said police also found two bindles of cocaine and white pills. The dog also detected drugs in Tatum’s carry-on bag, where police found more marijuana and red pills.

Tatumwas charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and trafficking in marijuana. Stoneburgh was charged with trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pedophile Tracking Arlington, TX Elem. Principal Arrested

An Arlington elementary school principal has resigned his position after he was arrested and accused of trying to seduce a teenage boy in Florida.

Police say Stephen Paulsen, former principal of Morton Elementary, thought he was going to meet a teen for sex, when he was taken into custody.

Paulsen is now facing several charges involving soliciting a child online for sex, including using a computer to seduce, solicit and lure a child, travel to meet after use of a computer to lure a child and child cruelty.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Paulsen, 54, was in Florida to visit his parents when he began chatting online with a cop who was posing as a young teenage boy. The principal allegedly used the screen name “Tony Texas” and struck up a conversation with the boy. Florida authorities say Paulsen also sent nude photos of men to the undercover cop disguised as the young boy.

According to police records, he wrote “So… I have to ask are you out of hs? It’s just you state your young.”

The detective says he told Paulsen he was younger than 16.

“Wish you were 17,” Paulsen allegedly replied. “Love to teach you … Excellent teacher/mentor.”

A sexually graphic conversation lasted several days before police say Paulsen invited himself to the boy’s home, while he believed the boy’s parents were away.

A detective wrote “He stated that he was nervous because I was under 17,” and even called the boy “jail bait.”

Police say Paulsen then suggested a place for the young boy to meet him. When he arrived, police arrested him.

Paulsen appeared in court Wednesday morning in Palm Beach County Florida and is scheduled to appear again on Friday.

The Arlington Independent School District says it has accepted Paulsen’s resignation, effective immediately and is cooperating with law enforcement officials. AISD has also reported Paulsen’s arrest to the Texas State Board for Educator Certification.

According to AISD, Paulsen has been with the district for eight years, serving as principal for the past two with Morton Elementary. The previous six years he served as principal at Blanton Elementary.

Private Detective Kenton County Child Home Safe After Mistakenly Kidnapped

A Kenton County girl is back home with her parents after being mistakenly kidnapped Thursday.

The 4-year-old was asleep in the back seat of her mother’s car when the vehicle was stolen.

“It felt like a lifetime not knowing where she was, not knowing what they could do to her at any given moment,” said the young girl’s father, Bryan Golsby.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Police say the little girl’s mother had gone into a Speedway around 1:30 p.m. Thursday leaving her daughter in the car. In less than 20 seconds, two teens jumped in and took off.

“Somewhere, about 15 minutes into the trip, they looked back and saw this juvenile asleep in the back seat, at which point they panicked and decided to dump the car,” explained Ft. Wright Police Sgt. Michael Knight.

Even thought it only took police about 20 minutes to get to the location where the teens left the vehicle, a Kroger parking lot not too far from the Speedway in Ft. Wright, the girl’s father says those few minutes felt like an eternity.

“It’s an eerie feeling not knowing where your child is,” Golsby said.

The little girl, never aware she was in danger, was found safe in the car that police were able to track using a cell phone signal, tracking the mother’s cell phone, which was also in the car.

The two teens were found in the area of the ditched car, and now face theft, kidnapping and other related charges.

The outcome of this situation comes as a huge relief to the parents who say they’ve learned a valuable lesson about leaving kids in the car.

Missing Person Answers Sought in 8 Year Old Case in Sioux City, Iowa

At any given time there are hundreds of people listed as missing in the state of Iowa. In Sioux County, there’s one name that’s been on that list for eight years.

It belongs to a four year old boy. On May 22, 2005, he disappeared right before his family’s eyes.

“Nothing makes sense,” said Brad Ackerman.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

That’s how Ackerman feels about the disappearance of his little boy, Breiton.

“We don’t know what happened and I think it’ll always be that way,” said Ackerman.

When four year old Breiton disappeared, he’d been fishing with his family. Three adults and five kids were all down along the creek enjoying the afternoon. In an instant, he was gone. He vanished without a trace.

Ackerman said, “Everybody’s just catching them and throwing them in the bucket and I think I had looked across , I asked one of the kids where’d Breiton go? It was just that quick. He was just standing by the bucket dumping fish in and boom that was it.”

In the hours that followed, a frantic search of Willow Creek, southeast of Alton, Iowa. Gates were placed downstream as a precaution, search dogs combed the banks. Heavy equipment was brought in tear out the culvert and the land around it.

“They dug down and back in the bank to make sure he didn’t fall in a hole or was covered up or all the center and culverts that had to come out were searched with dogs and people. Just looking for any stitching, any clothing,” said Breiton’s father.

Eight years later, Breiton’s disappearance is still considered a missing person’s case. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Department looked into where he could have been taken or even walked off.

Brad Ackerman said, “He had bare feet. He’s like I am, tender feet. I can’t stand to walk on cement hardly with bare feet, so he wouldn’t have just run up the hill. Nobody came down that road to where we were at.”

Even though he believes the chance is slim, Ackerman followed the advice of law enforcement and submitted his own DNA for a national “missing children” database.

“They actually have their DNA taken, put in the national database and if the parent’s have done that as well, they’ll show up in a match,” he said.

But as time passes, the reality that he may never know what happened to his son becomes more evident.

“I don’t understand it. Don’t like it, but you can’t change it. It’s over in an instant. You wished you could go back and say we shouldn’t have gone down there that day or I should have had him, you know, tied to my belt or something like that. But you can’t do it,” he said.

Moving forward means finding his own way of coping with the loss.

“It happened,” said Ackerman. “There’s a reason, but we’ll never know the reason. But I think for me it’s making peace with it. Good family, good friends, good community, good church. Without that I don’t know how people get through situations.”

Sioux County Sheriff Dan Altena said his team hasn’t given up on this case and that he’s still baffled by it. He’s hoping there will be a clue at some point, a piece of clothing that could help locate Breiton.

“The case is still open. And, especially people that live along the creek that was affected, if they see anything that looks unusual, to let us know. Contact us, let us come out and take a look at it,” Sheriff Altena said.

When Breiton disappeared, Sioux County didn’t have a dive team. A year later, they raised enough funds to buy equipment to start one. Brad Ackerman is one of a dozen members on the team.

Fraud Investigation Man Arrested for Passing Counterfeit Bills

Stanford Police have arrested a man believed to be in a counterfeit money ring.

Police arrested Timothy Poynter, who was charged with first-degree possession of a forged instrument. Police say he was at Walmart and tried to use the fake money there. He had the original bills in his pocket and also the counterfeit bills as well.

Madison, Lincoln, Laurel, Casey, Jessamine and Boyle counties are all dealing with the counterfeit ring.

http://liarcatchers.com/fraud_investigation.html

Poynter allowed police to search his house and they found dying products to bleach the money and dry it out. It was set up in the basement like a manufacturing lab.

Police don’t believe Poynter is the only one in the ring, but a major player.

Wrongful Death Woman Sentenced in Connection to Johnson County Double Murder

The woman who led authorities to the bodies of a murdered Johnson County couple was sentenced to three years in prison Friday.

Amanda Fannin pleaded guilty last month to hindering prosecution in the case of the missing couple, Larry and Sandra Blanton. Their son, Willie Blanton, was sentenced to life in prison without parole after admitting he beat his parents to death and buried them on their Johnson County farm.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Judge John David Preston sentenced Fannin for her role in the deaths at a hearing in Johnson County Circuit Court Friday morning. Fannin and Blanton were dating at the time of the murder.

Larry and Sandra Blanton were reported missing last year. Their bodies were found in February thanks to a tip from Fannin.

Fannin initially told prosecutors she knew where the bodies were buried, but said she had nothing to do with their deaths. She was being held in jail at that time on charges of promoting contraband and flagrant non-support.

In exchange for the information, prosecutors agreed not to charge Fannin for the Blanton’s deaths, and not to pursue the death penalty against Willie Blanton.

However, prosecutors later learned Fannin had more to do with the deaths than she admitted. According to investigators, four people came forward telling the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office that Fannin told them she was present during the murder of at least Sandra Blanton and helped dispose of the bodies and clean up the murder scene.

She was charged with hindering prosecution, to which she pleaded guilty last month, days after Willie Blanton pleaded guilty to murder, tampering with physical evidence and other charges.
