An Owen County woman has been arrested by State Police after they say she attempted to shoot her sheriff father.

Heather Hammond, 35, of Glencoe was arrested Thursday afternoon. Preliminary investigation shows that Hammond, who is the daughter of Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond, pointed a loaded weapon at her father while at his home in Glencoe. When she attempted to shoot, the weapon jammed and would not fire.
Heather Hammond was arrested and charged with attempted murder and wanton endangerment. She is being held in the Carroll County Detention Center.
