Viola Reynolds is looking for her son, Jason Paul Lowrey, 31, who has been missing from the Madison area since Sunday, Oct. 7.
According to Reynolds, he was last seen at a residence on Copelan Road that same night.
“He was riding with someone who had picked him up, and I am hoping that whoever that person is, or someone who saw them, will speak up,” Reynolds said Tuesday when she came into The Messenger office.

With Lowrey missing for more than a week, Reynolds is worried that something is going to – or has – happened.
“This is not like him, to go this long without contacting me,” she said. “He is out there wandering around, lost, and I need all the help I can get.”
Reynolds said her son is off his medications for schizophrenia, a recently diagnosed mental disorder that has plagued him since 2005. The condition he suffers from sometimes makes him believe he can live without the medications, she said.
When he left his residence at 2750 Eatonton Road in Madison Oct. 7, Lowrey was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans and carrying a red, white and black backpack. He has short hair and a full beard he has been keeping cropped short to his face, Reynolds said. Lowrey is more than 6 feet tall and weighs around 190 pounds.
Lowrey can be identified by three tattoos on his arms. The word “Kylah” is tattooed on his right hand; “Paxton” is tattooed on his left hand; and “WWJD” is tattooed on his right forearm.
Reynolds said her son was spotted by law enforcement that night, walking along state Route 83 and was taken to a relative’s house in Social Circle when Lowrey told officials it was his father’s house.
The woman there told the law enforcement officer Lowrey’s mother was staying at a campground, and he took Lowrey to the campground, dropping him off at the front.
“But, instead of coming inside to look for me, he started walking down Highway 441 again,” she said.
That is when Reynolds believes someone picked him up, stopping by her friend’s house on Copelan Road.
Reynolds said her friend said Lowrey was in a vehicle with someone, but could not make out whether the vehicle was a car or a truck.
“They didn’t pull all the way into the driveway, so he couldn’t see what kind of vehicle it was,” she said. “I just am hoping whoever was driving will call and let me know where they dropped him off or where they took him.”
Reynolds has talked to the Putnam and Baldwin sheriffs’ offices about Lowrey’s disappearance and posted flyers in the community.
