It’s been more than 24 hours since a father and his two kids went missing. His family says Michael Mann, who is bi-polar, left New Albany, Indiana last night with his son and daughter, and never made it to his mother’s house in Versailles.
Mann’s mother says he’s a good dad, that he’d never hurt his 5 year-old daughter, Macy, and three year-old son, Madden, and he’d never put them in danger.

But the 34 year-old father is the center of a police investigation after taking off from his Indiana home with his kids. No one has seen or heard from mann since 10:30 last night.
Then, this afternoon, a clue.
Mann’s van was found on I-75 South near London, keys inside, with a half tank of gas.
“We had officers with K-9s that went through the wooded area close by the car. They did not find any signs of any entry into the woods,” says Trooper Don Trosper with Kentucky State Police.
Mann had told family he was heading to his mom’s house on Elm Street in Versailles, but it appears he kept going to Laurel County.
His mom tells us her son suffers from bi-polar disorder: a brain condition that causes unusual shifts in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. She says he’s checked himself into a hospital for treatment in the past and wonders if that’s his plan this time.
“She’s a really good mother and is concerned about all her children,” says next door neighbor to Mann’s mom, Wanda Adkins.
Adkins says she came home to police cars in her neighbor’s driveway.
“I just can’t imagine what it’s like going through not knowing where your child is, where your grandchildren are, are they alright, are we going to find them?”
Another night with no news keeps mann’s family wondering what happened.
At this point no Amber Alert has been issued. Mann’s family tells me they’re trying to change that. Kentucky State Police say that could happen, as the investigation continues.
