Authorities in Lincoln County have arrested a woman who they say shot her husband to death as he slept.
The incident apparently happened either Monday night or early Tuesday at a home on New Lane Road in Waynesburg.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Tamara Richie, 50, went over to her sister’s house located in Stanford and told her she had shot her husband, David Richie. Tamara’s sister then called police.

Deputies and the sheriff responded to Tamara Richie’s home and found her husband, David Richie dead in his bed. He had been shot in the head once with a handgun.
Deputies took Richie into custody at her sister’s house without incident. They said they recovered a handgun they think is the murder weapon.
The husband and wife had been married for 27 years.
