Arson Investigation Police Arrest Man in Garrard County

Police have made an arrest in an arson case in Garrard County from earlier this month.

On October 10, a residential structure fire on Cleo Drive was reported to the Bluegrass 911 Center. Members of the Camp Dick Fire Department responded and rescued one individual, Damien Heath Mullins, from the roof of the house and found what appeared to be explosive devices.

The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted and KSP Hazardous Devices responded and removed several improvised explosive devices from the residence.

KSP Arson Investigator Kevin Dunn and Detective Rob Morris conducted a preliminary investigation on scene and determined that the fire had been intentionally set. KSP Arson Investigator Pat Alford obtained warrants for the Mullins, who was arrested on October 24. He is charged with second-degree arson, nine counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and third-degree use of a weapon of mass destruction. He is being held in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
