The girl you see at right is 15-year-old Amber Skye Mickelson of Bedford, who’s been missing since 8 p.m. Friday. According to Bedford police, that’s the last time Amber’s mother saw the girl, which is why police have issued a missing person alert. So far, an Amber Alert has not been issued.
Lt. David Smith, in Bedford PD’s Criminal Investigations Division, says that’s because it doesn’t appear at the moment that Mickelson was kidnapped. Says Smith, Amber’s mother initially reported her as a runaway Saturday morning. The 15-year-old has left home a few times before, says Smith, “but she hadn’t returned as she had in the past. There’s no evidence to say she was abducted.”

Per the Bedford PD’s alert: Mickelson is about five-foot-one, weighs 100 pounds, and wears braces and glasses. And she was last seen wearing black jeans, a green-and-black shirt and tennis shoes. The department asks if you have seen Mickelson, or have any information about her whereabouts, to call (817) 952-2440.
