A Rochester man has been charged with insurance fraud relating to a fire that happened in August.
Firefighters were called to a fire on Jefferson Avenue on August 18. Firefighters determined that the fire was arson.
During the subsequent joint investigation with New York State insurance fraud bureau, investigators found that Terrell Levar Murray, 34, of Rochester, had filed a false property loss claim through his renter insurance. Murray received over $13,000 from his insurance company for property he removed from the home prior to the fire.

The house had significant damage and had to be torn down.
Investigators are still looking into who started the fire.
